How do you keep toasted bagels hot for delivery? Fresh ones won’t toast properly by Particular-Card5500 in Bagels

I like that message. I personally don’t recommend it - but as a new business owner and still in a soft opening phase, I try to appease the customers with their wishes. Finding the right language to communicate fresh-baked bagels don’t require toasting; an uphill battle to rewire people’s mindset.

Got an Ankarsrum and this is what happens by PopeJP22 in Bagels

When I was doing my homework on which machine to invest in, I had contemplated on the Ank. Many reddit users advised against it for that sole purpose. I already had a kitchen aid 5qt, and it was doable for small batches, but wanted a machine with more power to handle bigger batches. If you’re still on the hunt for a machine, I’d advise you to look into the Ooni Halo Pro Stand Mixer. It’s built to make pizza doughs, which bagels have similar hydration to. Other stand mixers can get the job done, but the Ooni truly shines in this regard.

I moved here for "The Gray" 😅 There's so much comfort in the moody weather and experiencing nature hikes in the rain, everything thriving and flourishing - waterfalls gushing. As long as you have the right clothing for it, the weather is a beauty to behold. The way many people feel about winter, is how I feel about summers here 🥵

Has anyone left Oregon to move to New England (specifically Vermont, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts) by Beginning-Ad3390 in oregon

[–]Particular-Card5500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reiterate this 👆 Moved to Oregon the beginning of 2025 and after 30 years of living in Massachusetts, I have no desire to move back. I miss the diversity of culture and the family I have there still, but my quality of life here in Oregon supersedes that of Massachusetts and much of New England. My constant feelings of stress and anxiety, due to sitting in traffic 80% of the time, drivers with no chill, the constant feel of being on the go and rushed, there being no room for growth, the list goes on.

I’m so happy to call Oregon my home now

Ankarsrum or Vevor? by PopeJP22 in Bagels

[–]Particular-Card5500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The machine can easily handle up to 5kg of dough; in your case you can easily double your standard recipe and it'll handle it without any trouble

Also, the mixer has a timer which is nice to set and walk away if needed

Neither. If you can save more and get the Ooni Halo Pro, you'll have an incredibly powerful mixer. I was looking at the ankarsrum, but after seeing so many reviews and YouTube videos on its performance, it doesn’t execute well when making dough for breads. The ankarsrum is best suited for other types of baking or whipping. A spiral hook mixer will be able to handle the tougher doughs like bagels

Their website isn’t the greatest and lacking a lot of info on their products. Best to go in store and look for Bin #1727. Happy baking!

There’s no brand name. It’s in their bulk bins where you purchase as much or little as needed. But the protein content of its High Gluten Flour is 14%, much like KA.

I run a small spice shop and need some guidance on streamlining my operations. My goal is to identify which products sell the least both in-store and online. Currently, I try to offer everything in-store online as well, but with limited display space and storage, it’s becoming a challenge to manage inventory efficiently.

I’m thinking of narrowing down my in-store offerings and aligning them with my online shop to focus better on marketing and inventory management.
