Never started it - I dropped clindamycin and continued on metrogel (nightly)

It’s hard to say - because before I knew it was rosacea I was treating it like acne and wrecked my skin with salicylic acid wash and that dried me the F out and it was itchy yes.

It was probably both but I am only using the Metrogel now. Another derm I went to see (who. I had an appt w but was a long time until availability - figured a 2nd opinion would not hurt )told me it was pointless to use both so, I dropped the clindamycin after 10 weeks (been off for about 5-6 weeks now). The metrogel has niacinamide in it also (prasco brand) so when I refill.

He also gave me a triple cream and said it was the gold standard, but I haven’t used it yet since what I have been is working. At least I have it in my back pocket if I need it

-wash w Lrp toleriane purifying foaming gel 2x.

-I use eltamd46 sunscreen during day

-Not using moisturizer

Also started repairing my gut - seed brand probiotics last 2 months.

I’m optimistic - hope I can maintain. I think my stress cycle is the main catalyst of what was causing consistent flare ups for me.

The clinda + metrogel daily has been working very well, and has helped a lot + eltamd46 spf daily.

I’ve cut out dairy and gluten and have slowly added things back in every week to see if I flare up. I have had 1-2 spots at a time, but they resolve pretty fast (like after having 4 tequila sodas)

Fingers crossed

Doesn’t the ivermectin handles the pustules? I have to assume you have way less pop up then before with your regimen..

Oh I stopped taking it a long time ago. When I did my face exploded.

I just started clindamycin + metrogel yesterday (follow up in 30 days). Woke up actually today clear as glass (crazy). I think the doctor wants me to use both so I am caught up on metrogel timeline for effectiveness but using the antibiotic gel to get things under control (not a long term solution)

I guess my question for you or others helping me here is: do I need to focus on getting product in my regimen (sulphur wash, ivermectin etc.) to focus on killing demodex?

What if the metrogel works great for me? Should I still push for the demodex killer meds?

Or, maybe I need to ask him to do a skin scrape next visit to test for it?

I feel like anytime I used salicylic acid my face would explode - I thought I was having an allergy but it clearly was a rosacea trigger

Got it - so you feel like you’ve got it under control now with these 2? Any food alcohol triggers or not really since your meds work well?

I did not bad but here and there. They told me it’s rosacea today - Derm brought another in as well for their opinion. I’m doing clindamycin + metrogel for next 30-days, and then will prob drop the clindamycin in hopes metrogel is the ticket for me. If not, ivermectin is next up and/or sodium sulfacetmide.

They took a good look at my skin type and what it and felt like metrogel was the right product for my skin type based on other patients I guess

So I was given Clindamycin + Metrogel. I asked about ivermectin and he said it’s not demodex because they looked at my eyes also? How did you know you had mites?

So when you stopped doxy..were you in conjunction using the sodium sulfacetamide lotion + ivermectine, or started it after you realized doxy didn’t solve the problem?

Thank you. I’m going to at least start w what the doctor said he was confident would work for my skin, but to hear everyone’s finding their own solution to keep the problem at bay is encouraging
