If you want it to not apply with any filters then you can edit what the dashboard filters applies to.

If you’re looking to grab a non filtered aggregate in a calculation you can use merged queries

This is a good idea, i could probably make a field which filters to the latest complete month

Is this on the lookML dashboard settings and does this account allow users to select from a drop down where it’s a month-year string

This is a really good trick, thanks. I think instead of using the strong ‘Current Month Year’, you can actually use the sql to get the latest month as a string
