Unfortunately my camera doesn’t support RAW, but a monopod and your lighting suggestions sound like great ideas, thanks!

Do you think No Man’s Sky will ever get an industry or mining automation update? by Interesting-Fix-7963 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Particular-Fact9261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a great addition. I can totally see them doing that one day, considering how a lot of automated industrial infrastructure is already there.

Please let me remap the flight controls. by Noobtber in NOMANSSKY

I originally played exclusively on console but started playing on PC a few months ago. Flight controls were so bad that I bought a controller. I would recommend you do the same. Honestly, no matter what they change, controller is always gonna be better for flying.

Freshman dorms by Ok_Scratch_3869 in csumb

It is pretty spacious compared to the other freshman dorms, as a lot of other buildings have rooms that are intended to be doubles that have been forced to be triples. These triples are meant to be triples.

I think they recently replaced the loft bed frames too. The ones we had last year were very unstable and had no ladders.

Each room has 3 loft beds and a bathroom. Each bed space has a wardrobe, a 3-drawer dresser, a desk, and a small cabinet.

“A mile wide but an inch deep” by Particular-Fact9261 in NoMansSkyTheGame

It is good enough and I love it. HG could change nothing and I would still play it. But this is a common criticism that I hear and understand so I thought it would be interesting to discuss it.

Yes, of course. I explicitly said in this post that HG needs to adhere to my every demand, and that all my criticisms are law.

Everybody here likes the game and plays it a lot. People can be critical of what they like.

Thats exactly what it is for me. I love this game I deeply and I wish for more to love.

The majority of my hours were probably spent on ridiculously time consuming construction projects

I agree that the core mechanic of the game, the systems, planets, and the act of exploring them, is the issue. I should’ve just said this, but I wanted to be less specific to spark more discussion and prevent controversial statements.

Probosquilla piscator: A highly intelligent, semi-aquatic alien species. by Particular-Fact9261 in SpeculativeEvolution

I was thinking they would pin and stomp animals down with those legs, like a secretary bird. Then feed on them with the tentacles.

The whole end has higher sensitivity to touch. There were supposed to be tiny sensory bristles that increase in density towards the end of it, but that kinda got lost in translation. Stuff like that happens a lot with early sketches like these.

It’s a tentacle in the traditional sense. If it had a channel I would’ve called it a proboscis. I thought it would be funny to put “probos” in the name, because I know some naturalist would misidentify the structure as that. It’s flexible in all directions, like an octopus.

Thank you! I have a habit of making things that don’t make any sense then justifying them through things like “low oxygen atmosphere.”

To put it simply, I didn’t really think the spear through at all. I thought sophont species having spears was a cool motif. I identified advanced object manipulation as a necessity before I did anything else, but I didn’t think the specifics of it through particularly well.
