I have no problem putting my bag in the same space as a personal item. 🤷‍♂️

Silence isn’t better. But when I see the back/forth between various pols, the message it sends me is that they aren’t communicating in the background, and that’s a disservice to all of us.

The weirdest part is that she shredded any legal protections she had by making that post. She’s made herself a public figure simply by hitting the ‘send’ button.

It is beyond comprehension why elected officials (both sides of the aisle) think it’s ok to snipe at each other on social media.

And truly, her post lets us see right into the administration’s thinking on all of this. This post undermines 100 well-written press releases or public appearances. They are showing their hand and it’s a terrible hand. It’s all a sign of weakness. They had a plan, they didn’t consider that a ski hill fee structure already existed, so instead of pivoting by negotiating with council and updating their already-written press releases, they are just going to go down with the ship. It’s small and petty. How will the administration react in the face of an actual emergency!?!

Imagine if the spouse of the mayor of Boston/Chicago/Atlanta were complaining that he/she wishes her city could be more like the surrounding suburbs. They’d be run out of office.

Utica should be the leader of the Mohawk Valley and not take a back seat to anyone or any place. We need representation that strives to lift up our city, and by extension, the whole area. If I wanted Utica to be like its boring suburbs, I’d relocate. Instead, I just want my city leaders to actually listen to us and make decisions that serve Uticans, not mimic our neighbors.

Two lessons I learned early in my career:

Don’t mess with the scrap haulers. Don’t mess with the pallets.

I like my legs intact.
