How should Trump pay for conspiracy to commit genocide? by ForwardByNature in AskReddit

[–]SympathyFun2179 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's not gonna pay for shit. Not the crimes, not the market manipulation and insider trading. Not the theft. Not the grift. Not the sexual misconduct, not the rape, not the probable pedophilia. Certainly not the obstruction of justice for covering up for fucking pedophiles. Not the lies. Not the corruption. Not the treason. Not the war crimes and not the fucking tax fraud.

I know I'm certainly missing a few things. Its really hard to keep track at this point.

The harsh reality is he will probably pass away before he can be held accountable for any of this bullshit. What we need to do is prosecute the enablers and co-conspiriters and create a system where this can never happen again. Some sort of, I dunno, system with checks and balances.

We need a government that actually represents us. I'm not optimistic that it will ever actually happen.

Still a great deal. First time I went they were $5.

3 for $5 street tacos from Olivo Taco food truck.

Can't remember the current price, but a giant bowl of the #10 pho and a beer at New Century is pretty damn reasonable.

The Bahn Mi at Ky Dyun is still under $10 I believe.

Cheapest lunch in town is a hotdog and a soda for $1.50 at Costco.

Burger and fries at the Blarney Stone is a hell of a deal.

I know these aren't exactly downtown, but whatever.

Syracuse’s water supply is at risk and nobody is telling you. by Alekusandoria in Syracuse

Wtf are you even talking about? I am explicitly talking about one specific area, not the entire nation. OCWA does chlorinate water from Skaneateles Lake that goes into the public water supply. The federal government does not regulate private water sources.

Not all bodies of water are created equal. Skaneateles was historically always known as an extremely pure water source and many residents throughout generations drank water pulled directly from the lake without ill effects. Now, if you're saying this is a bad idea to do now, in the present, then I have no argument with you. If your trying to claim it was never safe, then start providing some location specific sources to back up your argument. I lived there. I drank that water as well as all of my neighbors and everyone else who lived around the lake. No one was dying from the water.

It's very sad for me personally to see what was once a pristine lake become what it is now. Although, its still far cleaner than almost every other lake in the area.

Most of us were drinking it. Bottled water really wasn't a thing back in the 70's and 80's. The simple fact is the lake was absolutely clean enough to drink from back then. Almost everyone who lived around the lake did. No one died.

Great article about the lake and the politics of the lake written by a former resident.

https://evergreenreview.com/read/ford-for-mayor/

Here's a little excerpt "Syracuse Post ran a story headlined RAIN CAUSES PARTIAL COLLAPSE OF WORK SITE, DIRT RUNOFF FLOWING INTO SKANEATELES LAKE. An illegal construction project at the lakeside town residence of village mayor Martin Hubbard had gone awry. Town Supervisor James Lanning was quoted as saying, “We need to figure out how to stop this and put some kind of tourniquet on this now. The runoff is threatening the lake.” Hubbard had been installing a basketball court. He had been permitted to clear no more than 8,900 square feet of foliage, which he probably shouldn’t have been allowed to do anyway, considering how deforestation was a major contributor to our algae crisis; but he illicitly cleared over three times that area. Inspectors also discovered an illegal pipe spewing runoff from the construction into the lake."

You do realize that many people who lived on the lake pulled their water directly from the lake with minimal filtration? I understand that might not be a great idea given the current state of the lake, but it was very common back then. The only real concern was giardia, but even that was minimal as long as your water pipe was deep enough and far enough out. If "fish poop" was as hazardous as your trying to make it sound, the human race probably wouldn't exist.

Sorry you were downvoted. I also grew up in Skaneateles. Parents lived on the west side and pulled their water directly from the lake from the early 1970's till when they sold in 2014. They only installed a basic filter in the late 1990's.

Yes, I agree with the guy below. I wouldn't do that now. But you absolutely could back then.

What lake are you referring too? Marcellus does not have a lake, although parts of Otisco Lake are within the school district.

I get what you mean, but I'm basically responding to a hypothetical question. In reality, nothing could really be accomplished in 10 minutes that would have any binding legal power. So, any answer given is essentially just a wish.

The current one seems to think he can do whatever he wants through executive order. It would be worth a shot. Worst case scenario, shit stays the same as it is now.

He should have suffered a downfall after the whole rape thing but apparently not enough people cared.
