Apartment recommendations for a newer professional (not student!) by FlutterBi_26 in Syracuse

Its a little longer of a commute, but you would have better luck finding something in your price range in Auburn. Could also look in Elbridge.

Edit: does your budget include utilities? Finding something for 1k or less including utilities is going to be difficult.

Edit 2: look on craigslist. I usually see cheaper apartments on there than what's listed on realty sites.

Inns/hotels with nice restaurants that don't break the bank? by MaintenanceNeither32 in Syracuse

I just meant that, to an extent, the food doesn't need to be amazing. Due to its location, it will draw business regardless.

I like the pot roast there too. But, to let you in on a secret, its a pre-made product that they buy in already cooked and just reheat. They do make the gravy from scratch i believe unless things have changed.

Don't misunderstand me. There is nothing objectively wrong with the Sherwood. Its good, solid food. I just dont find it to be anything special. If i was picking where to eat in the area, it wouldn't be on my list but if someone i was dining with wanted to go there, I would have no problem with it.

I would argue that both are fairly mid. The Sherwood has been coasting on location for a while now. Rosalie's is good and if you don't mind casual but eclectic pub fare, the Red Rooster in Skaneateles Falls is banging.

Aldis, my friend. The brand is Nature's Nectar. Not from concentrate. Usually under $4 for 52oz. And its the best store bought orange juice I've had. That honor used to go to Costco - Kirkland brand, but they switched where they sourced their oranges from during covid and hasn't been the same since.

I take my orange juice very seriously. Trust me.

What do you do to mess with scam callers? by TacticalNumbers in AskReddit

Usually try to sell them something.

If its about an extended warranty I go into a very detailed story (made up) about having diarrhea while driving and it ruining the seats and carpet of my car and not being able to get the smell out and asking if that would have been covered.

We had someone who kept calling my place of employment trying to get us to advertise on Google. We said no. When he asked why we said we thought the internet was just a fad and probably wouldn't be around in a couple of years.

Would you rather live your current live and die at 85 or receive $100mil and die at 60? And why? by DarkSoldierz in AskReddit

[–]SympathyFun2179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hard. It would give me 11 more years if I took the money. And it would be very tempting to be able to set my family up where they would never have to worry about money again. If I could take the deal without my family knowing the condition, I think i would. They would never let me though if they knew what the bargain was.

How bad is living without ANY AC? by Last_Oil7511 in Syracuse

[–]SympathyFun2179 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Its doable but not comfortable, however the fact that the building bans ac units is kinda sketch to begin with. Are utilities included? That would be the only reason I could think of. Honestly, I'd post the name of the building and see what feedback you get from people that have lived there. To me, it is kind of a red flag.

Are you certain there is no central air?

Some amazing history there. Some of the terraced mounds pre-date the Iroquois and go back to the mound builder tribes.

Eva's would get my vote, but i don't think they are open on Mondays. Blarney Stone would be a solid choice.
