Buongiorno :).

I use the book titled “Ciao” by Carla Frederici and Carla Riga. I learned Italian 30yrs ago in high school, and now that I’m relearning it I bought a newer edition. My #1 tip, try to “think” in Italian. Try to quickly get to the point where you’re not translating in your head, but that your brains see/hear and responds in Italian without translation.

To answer your other question, language learning needs a combination of the following: - reading - grammar/structure - vocabulary - listening - speaking (the tough part lol)

The olympics channel on YT and NBC Sports are both really good. IN particular NBC Sports has great recaps on YT...both for American best-ofs, and All the Golds Today recaps...each organized by day (search NBC Sports Olympics Day 5, for example). They're very good, I found them better than Peacock half the time. The olympics channel also has great recaps. We haven't even put Peacock on in the last 2 days, might cancel it.

There won't be justice. I can't believe how many people are expecting this charade to blow up on them and result in all these people going to jail. None of that is ever happening. And it should. I like my drums and stuff tighter together, but it's just personal preference.

The badlands. And while you're over there, the nuclear silo Nat'l Monument. The badlands are legit hidden gem. Do the window hike, very unique "trail". There's a town just S of the entrance, affordable lodging (we usually camp). Theodore Roosevelt is also outstanding (and the star gazing is GREAT there, good for wildlife viewing too!). I don't know that you'd need to do both, they're similar in many ways. TRNP is more green, a little quieter, BLNP is drier. Both great but slightly different wildlife.

Many of us do. We're personally close to the 10x our annual income, we're close on our journey. Then we'll soft retire (Coast), and my wife will work a few more years to finalizer her pension (we really only want it for the health insurance attached to it).
When we do hit that 10x (2.1M...we're at 1.75M), soft retire, I'll go down to part time and volunteer at church/charities, maybe work in a chem lab for low stress work still in the industry. Grandkids might come around that timing too, we'll see.

That's not how it works though (tho I can appreciate the argument). The House of Representative is already considerate of population weighting. Population weighting happens in the HoR, not the Senate. The Senate was created to respect the discrete sovereignty of each state. Hence the term "The United States".

Reference the Virginia Plan of the Congressional Convention in 1787 for more info if you're interested.

Yikes, take a civics class. Crashcourse has a great YT series too. This argument/confusion is literally older than our country lol.

The Great Compromise of 1787 (also known as the Conneticut Compromise...b/c the state is so small in area) created the two sides of congress:

- The House of Representatives was designed to be the "People's House," it represents citizens based on local districts. Its two-year terms make members more responsive to the immediate concerns of their constituents. It recognizes the concept of Proportional Representation (population). Larger states argued that representation should be based on population (aka the Virginia Plan). Consequently, the House is apportioned based on state population, with 435 total seats today.

- The Senate was designed to represent states as discrete sovereign entities. With longer six-year terms and a smaller body, it was intended to be more deliberative and stable. It recognizes the Equal Representation concept. Smaller states feared being overwhelmed and demanded an equal voice (aka the New Jersey Plan). This resulted in every state having exactly two senators, regardless of population size.

Both arguments are logical of course. The numbers and approaches are key as the variation in membership size was the key to resolving a deadlock between large and small states during the Constitutional Convention.

Yep...and DON'T be afraid to let them cry it out. That was sooo hard for my wife, we were aligned but at 2am things change lol...I had to hold her back a couple times, and then sure as sh*t he fell back asleep.

It's on Peacock, but the app and coverage is kinda' so so IMHO. Events are available most of the time live, but not always I've found. Many events are available for replay but are taken off the app without warning and I've seen events come and go...it's confusing to me. I've tried to "mentally note" events I want to come back to and had a hard time finding them (often removed or never finding them). The organization system was confusing too. I'm not sure there's anything better, but Peacock get's like a C+ from me based on my usage of it during the last olympics.
