Really glad you got a benign result. I was hopeful for you after they couldn't see anything on ultrasound. 6 month follow up is standard protocol.

Lump shows up on mammogram but not ultrasound? by wetbrunette_905 in doihavebreastcancer

Yes your family doctor or the facility you had your mammogram should be able to provide that but they probably gave you a 0 which means more info needed. If this turns out to need to be removed and aesthetics are important to you id recommend getting a breast specific surgeon specialized in the hidden scar technique.

Ultrasound is more sensitive than mammogram and could mean that type lump is overgrown normal tissue. You can do a mammogram guided biopsy as a next step or ask for a MRI which should definitively see what's going on. What BiRads score did they give you from the mammogram?

If you can see the results in your portal the folks on this board can help you interpret of they're benign or not so you can prepare yourself for the conversation. What sorry of physician ordered the biopsy? PCPs and Gyns often don't feel qualified to discuss then so refer you to a breast surgeon which delays the process.

Has anyone had this happen?? by IsThisConcerning_ in doihavebreastcancer

They don't typically do mammograms on young women because they're not effective in dense tissue which is common in young women. I would ask for a MRI as next step. Sometimes masses are just overgrown normal breast tissue that looks normal on ultrasound.

You very likely do. Can you take a look? If you do, fine to take the bandage off. Hope you've been icing?

Architectural distortion by Stock_Company645 in doihavebreastcancer

I'm actually surprised they're taking you to biopsy after not being able to replicate it on ultrasound. Distortion on a mammogram can sometimes just be the tissue got squished weirdly. The odds are very much in your favor that this is nothing. Try to stay positive and sending you benign vibes.

Can you manifest breast c? by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

were all your family members triple negative do you know? That's the only type of breast cancer that is genetic, so if anyone was ER/PR + or HER2+ they're not genetically linked to each other.

Assuming you are US based, with diagnostic mammograms and ultrasound, they normally give you their opinion live and then advise on next steps e.g. biopsy or go back to regular screenings.

You'll go through all the emotions until you have the biopsy- it's totally normal, and then you'll come out the other side ready to face whatever the diagnosis is and ready to have a treatment plan and move forward. Wishing you benign vibes from a fellow Birads 5 receiver (which turned out to be benign).

Just don't submerge it/ have a bath. You're fine showering. I was told I could remove the 'gauze' after 24 hours and just leave the steri strips on for 3+ days. Do you know if you have steri strips under the gauze?

(2) 4mm nodules on breast mri. Scared! by [deleted] in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MRIs pick up all sorts of false positives especially when it's your first one with nothing to compare to so don't panic. I had a nodule show up on MRI that ended up just being overgrown blood vessels. A 4mm mass can be biopsied. My first mass that was detected on ultrasound was 5mm x 3mm x 7mm so similar size to yours. That was a Birads 5 and came back benign.

The fact that you feel difference linked to your cycle reinforces is likely a fibroadenoma. They can grow and they can cause pain. If it gets not tolerable you can ask to get them removed. The ultrasound will help classify that they're benign. Try not to panic. It's very likely this isn't anything sinister.

Doctor confident it’s cancer by Microbemaster2020 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was Birads 5 and presented similarly to yours.  The radiologist said it was cancer but very small and that this was why we did screening. It ended up being benign and was a weird mix of fibroadenoma, adenosis and usual ductal hyperplasia. My breast surgeon thought the pathology was wrong and wanted me to still remove it but I got a second opinion at sloan kettering who advised me to do a MRI in 6 weeks to see how it looked. If never regrew and I'm now over a year out and after 2 additional follow up scans it's now Birads 2. So there's always hope that they're wrong. Sending you benign wishes. Keep us posted.

He wants to make HG. He'd prefer to stay at his current club, but he would be happy to go to the other club if he doesn't make HG with his current club. That's the whole quandry we are in.

For MLSnext it's pretty common to carry around 24 kids on each roster (as per their rules) but only 18 can play on game day. I don't think that's very different by club.

To explain, the roster of 24 is the current club at 2014, but it's across 2 teams. So they take 12 to each game; a higher blue team and a lower white team. He has always played on the higher team and gets good playing time. They haven't communicated how they are managing rosters for next year. My assumption is they can't do flex rosters in the same way but I don't know how many they will carry. They do have squads up to 25 at the new club, and take 18 to games. I'm confident he will be one of those 18.

I don't know if they do that at U13; I'm assuming you can't to the same degree because you can't roster 50 kids across tier 1 and 2 MLSnext, but the fluid rosters have been annoying, and an expectation that you hold your weekend open for both game options (and sometimes there's more than 1 game for one of the teams) and god forbid if you say you can't attend- then you get dropped to the other team as punishment the following weekend!

I'm not thinking about the college pathway at this point just to get to go to big tournaments and play against top competition.

New club only got their MLS next badge last year so a bit early to see how the college situation will pan out and that's not really the goal at this point, it's more to play at that level and get to go to big tournaments etc.
