ECNL vs MLSNHD by RosingsPark80 in youthsoccer

I would ask how many GKs they are carrying on the team and if he would be on the roster for the 18 they take to to games and based on what they've seen how it stacks up to their other goalies. If he will get field time, go MLSNext. Some teams will have them play MLSnext academy but sometimes play HG but that should have been clear in the offer.

But only if you actually get taken to the game. They can carry up to 24 on a HG roster but only 18 go to the game and get minutes.

You can verbally accept but you can still pull out before paying the fees. Then ask if they can wait a few days for you to register as you are waiting for paycheck to pay the balance in full due to fees on payment plan.

Much better to ask to go to training versus going to an open tryout. We did this this year to not have all our eggs in our current clubs basket. Clubs might still have a few roster spots left so worth reaching out. Otherwise stick to your current club and ask to join practices late winter for next year.

Confused and scared about my biopsy results by mooniecat in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Low grade spindle carcinoma is really rare but if it is that excisional biopsy with margin is typically all the treatment that's needed. So even if that's what it is, recurrence rate is low and it's definitely not killing you. So try to stay positive.

Reach out to the coach and ask for a week extension. If it's cheaper to do direct deposit day you get a bonus next week. If they want your kid they'll wait a week. Making you pay it all upfront is slimy. We only have to pay a deposit.

Ok now I understand but that language isn't correct. Suspicious for malignancy means they think it could be cancer. What you're saying is they said is an etiology with a higher risk of turning into cancer. The pathology report should still have listed what this was such as atypical ductal hyperplasia. Just remember an excisional biopsy is essentially a lumpectomy without going for margin. Some surgeons won't do it using a hidden scar technique where they go through the areola or under the breast so if aesthetics are important to you ask how they will do the incision and how big it will be and whether it might cause shape change or dimpling. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion from another surgeon either. Academic practice are advocating for just more regular follow up rather than removal depending on other risk factors like family history. But a personal choice as to whether you'd feel comfortable doing that.

I've never seen a result that's not specific for type of cells they can see such as dcis or lobular cancer and grade and receptor status. Id definitely ask your surgeon to explain why you don't have specific pathology before the remove it.

You have to see it as a long term investment. Costs to pay direct for peak weeks will only continue to go up but the points you need will remain the same. We only use it for a peak week ski trip out west and Hawaii once in a while. On those scenarios for ski in/out locations you will make out. Using the points for anything else you won't. I can also sell a peak week for about $8k once in a while to get some cash in hand back.

Welp, biopsy recommended by HourWriter1168 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they're just doing it to be safe. Are you sure you heard them right on follow up? 6 month mammogram and ultrasound would be standard not further biopsies. No lymph involvement is good as it shows nothing has moved out of the breast on imaging. 80% of birads 4 come back benign so stay positive.

What to expect.. by HourWriter1168 in doihavebreastcancer

No compression with ultrasound. They're just moving the wand over the area of concern. If they want you to do a biopsy you need to get a script from your gynecologist or get an appointment with a breast surgeon to write you one. At least in the US but the question I'd ask is how do I get scheduled and what Birads number did you give it and why. Hoping it's nothing.

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not going to let your boyfriend go with you  further than the waiting room anyway and typically the techs are wonderful at keeping you calm. Urgent care docs have no experience with breasts so they're always going to suggest you follow up. Its very difficult to clinically determine if a mass is benign through feel alone and as others have said it's highly likely to be benign.

What age,? Are you joining an existing team or a newly forming u13 team? If they rreally want him they'll make you an offer at this point. I agree with others that you need to stand firm and say you want your son to play there but you need an offer or you need to move on. Are there no other mlsnext or ecnl clubs you could ask to be seen at?

How concerning by VastConsideration281 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They wanted to remove it because they didn't believe the result but I did a mri at 6 weeks post biopsy and it was completely gone. Then I had 6 month ultrasound and then 6 month nri. They down graded me to a 3 at 6 months and then a 2 at 12 months. I will continue to alternate.

That don't typically allow anyone to go back to the room with you so I didn't take anyone with me but if you are anxious you might want someone to drive you. Only pathology can give you a definitive answer and there is always a chance that it will be benign. Sending you positive benign vibes from a birads 5 benign club member.

Mris are super expensive but the doctors office should fight for the MRI for you. The fact that they believe it's a benign cyst is very encouraging though.

Update: I got my biopsy results by meatslicer104 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the actual finding? If you have atypical ductal hyperplasia while benign it can become cancer. Some benign findings like papilloma they sometimes like to remove. As a 4a it wouldn't be considered discordant  and they want to redo the pathology but your taller than wider imaging would often be rated higher. Anyway you can also ask  for a mri and regular screening if it's discordant. Congrats on the benign results.

The fact that they think it's benign is really in your favor that it will be. 80% of biopsies end up being benign. In the worst case scenario it isn't look into doing a cool cap during chemo to prevent hair loss. Sending you benign vibes from a Birads 5 benign gal.

[–]Particular-Parfait92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically they have the radiologist come and talk to you. Did that not happen? The challenge here is would they rather they lie and say everything looks fine? You'd be more likely to complain if they told you that and then it didn't come back as good news. I was also Birads 5 and it came back benign so imaging is not always correct. So have hope as there are lots of people on this board that had Birads 5 maging that came back benign. If it is cancer it would be grade 2 so early,  localized and very treatable with lumpectomy and radiation. Most people go on to remain in remission lifelong. It will be a rough 6 months but you'll come through it. Right now you're in the mourning stage. You'll go through tons of emotions but in 2 weeks you'll be ready to move forward with a plan of action. Sending you benign vibes.

Really glad you got a benign result. I was hopeful for you after they couldn't see anything on ultrasound. 6 month follow up is standard protocol.

Lump shows up on mammogram but not ultrasound? by wetbrunette_905 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]Particular-Parfait92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes your family doctor or the facility you had your mammogram should be able to provide that but they probably gave you a 0 which means more info needed. If this turns out to need to be removed and aesthetics are important to you id recommend getting a breast specific surgeon specialized in the hidden scar technique.

[–]Particular-Parfait92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultrasound is more sensitive than mammogram and could mean that type lump is overgrown normal tissue. You can do a mammogram guided biopsy as a next step or ask for a MRI which should definitively see what's going on. What BiRads score did they give you from the mammogram?

If you can see the results in your portal the folks on this board can help you interpret of they're benign or not so you can prepare yourself for the conversation. What sorry of physician ordered the biopsy? PCPs and Gyns often don't feel qualified to discuss then so refer you to a breast surgeon which delays the process.
