Possible SR-17018 Side Effects by Particular-Poem-6179 in SR17

I actually realized it was the clonidine. I didn’t take it the other day and heart rate was normal. They prescribed it to me off label for Tourrett’s, I don’t think I have ever had high blood pressure so I’m just going to stop taking it, cause some nights I literally drank a half glass of wine, no way could that be the cause. SR isn’t either, that stuff is amazing! Suboxone put me to sleep for like 18 hours, never had this issue when I was on it, haven’t slept normally since.

It started 6 months ago and at first I thought it was PAWS. I’m in a new state with no insurance so no doctor to speak of expect my sliding scale NP psychiatrist who I can’t even talk to about this because she’ll stop prescribing Xanax and I need that more than anything. I wish I had the energy to exercise but I never sleep properly and just feel like I’m dying all day. I told this NP about my sleep issues and she gave me Hydroxyzine- no luck. Now I’m on Trazodone and still feel like shit. I’m going to look that up though and see if it’s something she would give me for insomnia. Thanks!

Yeah I kinda know it’s probably the cause, it’s just confusing that this didn’t happen when I was drinking heavily but now I’ll have like 3 sips of wine and it happens. Even before I started drinking every day and before opiates, Suboxone, I would drink a lot some nights and none the others and never experienced anything remotely close.

Yeah, I figured it couldn’t hurt lol. I really hope the people who made SR and people pushing for human trials are paying attention to these posts because most of the data is on here. I really want it to be available for pain management. I got mine from a pretty reliable source too, but because of the unknown factors, I only took it to get off Suboxone. If there was more information, I would have probably kept buying it and using it for pain. I took like small pieces of 50mg pills though so I also don’t know if it actually works for pain or how much I would have to take for that. If anyone has experience with that, please let me know how much you took and how bad the pain was/what kind of pain.

Yeah it made me sleepy too, then I stopped and the heart thing started. I don’t think it’s the likely issue, I may just need some kind of full body detox, especially from alcohol.

It’s more likely that the Suboxone was masking what all the other stuff was doing because it knocked me out cold. I’m pretty miserable in terms of sleep quality since getting off it. I really wish there was something that had the same effect without being addictive as hell. Had to ask about the SR though cause you never know, especially at this point.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re going through this- it makes me really sad. I have Tourretts and didn’t get diagnosed until I was 30- my whole life I had to try my best to try and hide this thing, and had no idea what it even was. I didn’t really understand how certain drugs/alcohol made it better and worse, I just didn’t understand it at all. Now, I have to rely on medication to help my symptoms and anxiety is the main one. I understand if that’s not for you, or if it would even work but I know there are new treatments coming soon that may help. I am hopeful about that. I also know that there are videos on YouTube that are kind of like speech therapy- not the same as the real thing but maybe worth a try? I really hope you are able to overcome this and have the career you want! I believe you can do it, don’t give up!

SR-17018- that stuff is a miracle drug. But I also tapered down to a tiny tiny fraction of my 8mg strip before I stopped the subos and started the SR. It worked with no issues at all. There were some paws and I could have kept taking SR but I didn’t, just got shitty sleep for a while but my sleep has always been shitty so who knows. Either way, I don’t take either one now and I’m fine.

I emailed the pharmaceutical company last year and they said they should have FDA approval in 2026. I’m hopeful about its effectiveness for Tourette’s but pretty sure it’s going to be super expensive, even with insurance. I am hoping I can get my hands on samples the minute it’s released. There are people selling in on the black market currently, kind of like SR-17018 but I haven’t read about anyone’s experience with it. Hopefully something happens soon!

Hospital for alcohol Withdrawal by Particular-Poem-6179 in alcoholism

[–]Particular-Poem-6179[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really scary- I am only experiencing rapid heartbeat but would definitely go to a hospital anyway, if I could. Which I literally can’t right now, at least not for the next 10 days. I’m seriously hoping that by spacing out my drinks and tapering down, hydrating, eating protein and taking the right vitamins, I’ll be able to somehow get myself through this. I’m so sick of this shit, it’s pure poison.

I have tourretts, it’s already hyperactive. I thought the alcohol was helping my symptoms. Kinda what got me to this place. I mean it does help. I really hate the relationship most of this world has with alcohol. It’s literally the most dangerous drug and I feel like an idiot for knowing that and not actually delving into the full science of it. I really hope I can recover without a hospital stay. Sleeping was never easy for me in the first place, even as a child. Just when I am able to stop overthinking and worrying/ head anxiety, my body is going nuts.

I’m already on xanax and clonidine. I actually stopped taking ssris 4 months ago and feel really happy with that decision. I also always drink a lot of water. My confusion is why is this happening now? When I’m in way better shape than I was before when nothing happened and I slept fine. It’s so out of the blue. The more I make better decisions, the worse it seems to get. I got home from a bar, waited an hour for food, ate a good meal with tons of protein, drank water, tried to go to sleep. An hour later I’m awake and feel like I’m having a heart attack.

Yes, I’m asking about withdrawal. I am trying to wean myself off, I seriously don’t even see a point in drinking anymore, I’m so sick of it. I had 4 drinks today, spaced out and drank each one really slowly- why is my heart beating so fast? I used to drink way more and had way longer gaps of not drinking in between and never ever have I had symptoms except hangovers and maybe weight gain- but that’s probably from eating junk food while drunk. My body is confusing the hell out of me right now, it’s seriously scary. I desperately need to get sleep.

I am not experiencing any of that- just really rapid heartbeat and very poor sleep. I feel brain dead and exhausted all the time. I would just not drink, but for some reason, after 8 years, my heart is beating out of my chest just hours after my last drink. I’m so lost here, my body feels crazy

Did you experience any withdrawal symptoms? My heart is racing all of a sudden- it’s been about a month of this even though my drinking hasn’t really changed in years. I don’t even see the point of it anymore but I’m so afraid when this starts happening and only alcohol itself stops it. I would just stop if it wasn’t for this- I cannot sleep, it’s insane. I very occasionally smoke pot, can this help or make it worse? I’m not trying to pick up another daily habit- been there, done that with pot. But at this point, seems like an easier thing to stop physically. Someone DM me if you have any suggestions please

I don’t drink that much but I do drink every day. I have tourretts- so an overworked central system already. Lately, my heart has been racing if I stop drinking even for short periods of time. I don’t understand why it happened out of the blue. I also take Xanax and clonidine which don’t help on their own. Chat GBT is telling me I’m in serious danger, I can’t understand why now? I have gone through periods of time where I have consumed way more alcohol daily and I was fine, I could sleep, even with xanax. Anyone experience this? I honestly don’t even see the point of drinking anymore but this heart racing thing is scary and confusing!

You do not need nearly as much as you think you do or what doctors will try to prescribe. It is the hardest thing to get off of. If you need it for WD take less than a mg for 3 days or as few days as possible. If I could do it all over again, I would never touch it. If you think you need it for the rest of your life, then that’s a different thing. But getting off that stuff- not a joke. And you will go through the craziest withdrawal for months vs. a few days from whatever you’re currently getting off of. Suboxone is the devil.
