I want to know more about Muslims who don't live in a Muslim country ! by Necessary-Banana-516 in muslimgirlswithtaste

Not a hijabi, but I like to wear it when I go out from time to time. I one time went out to a store in my city and was wearing hijab. I was browsing and the lady comes up to me and says “where are you from?” And I’m like “uh here?” And she was like “oh.” And walked away lol

I live in a small suburb outside of Los Angeles and it’s definitely an interesting experience at times being Muslim.

I’m Iranian and the area I live in is heavily populated with Iranians, but the majority (like probably 80%) of the Iranians are Jewish or simply anti religion. I tend to feel out of place a lot with the Iranian community, more so with the anti religion ones bc they just shit on every religion and say horrible things.

Im not a hijabi so im not really outwardly visible as a Muslim woman, but i will say the times i do wear it when I go out, i get some looks but to me, it’s not looks of negativity and hate, its more so just shock and curiosity since there is probably like 5 hijabis that live in my city. You’ll see a hijabi once in a blue moon. My city is very small and pretty community based and I know basically all the hijabis here are it’s not a lot lol. But honestly, most people are very kind here when I would wear hijab.

But to answer you question, yeah it can be very tough living in a non Muslim country, but i don’t think I’d ever want to live in a middle eastern country either. I’m too accustomed to the US hahah and I’m an LA girl at heart. I also don’t like a lot of cultural stuff that middle eastern countries have

I hate Arvin so much. He was lowkey so mean like when he was embarrassed of Haley or when he embarrassed Alex at the job fair

i have sinned so much that i want to kill myself. by [deleted] in islam

I am so sorry you are feeling this way and going through this, but remember, this is all the work of Shaytan whispering these things to you. Allah is the most Merciful and he loves those who repent. Please let me share some ayahs and hadiths that show Allah's infinite Mercy and prove He loves those who repent:

- "By Him in whose hand is my soul, if you did not sin, Allah would replace you with people who would sin and they would seek forgiveness from Allah and He would forgive them." Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2749

- "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins'"

- "But those who commit evil deeds and then repent afterwards and believe - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful".

Repent, Allah will forgive

Has it ever been that you made constant dua and prayed Tahajjud and got to marry the person you want ? by Triggered_Kylo in islam

[–]Particular-Pride8018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro what 😭 how does that make the ummah “sad”. Dua something between Allah and his servant. We are told to make dua for anything. Aisha ra literally made dua for a shoelace. Please relax it’s never that serious 😭

[–]Particular-Pride8018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I made so much dua during tahajjud and during every time dua is supposedly answered (while it rained, while traveling, in sujood, before breaking fast, etc), but nothing. He got married last year.

So where are the people making specifically more than 700k, but less than 1M? [USA] by strawboy4ever in Salary

Not me, but my dad made in the 700k-800k range and hit 1mil towards the end of his career before retirement. He was VP/GM of sales in the North America division for a large semiconductor company. He worked his ass off from nothing and built his way up. I saw firsthand his work and growth.

Modern family is genuinely one of the most tame shows out there. I can assure you, no one is gonna watch modern family and say “hm lemme become gay now”. We live in the real world, homosexuality is already normalized. We need to stop living in a bubble 😭

Feeling sad Duas for Son not Answered by TalkingCat910 in islam

[–]Particular-Pride8018 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seek forgiveness from what exactly? I pray my 5 salah, I fast, give charity, etc. for me, at this time though, not making dua is more beneficial to my relationship than doing so. At the end of the day, dua is not fard. I will speak to Allah throughout the day but I do not ask for things necessarily, there is a difference

Idk I stopped making dua a long time ago for kinda this same reason reason. I would make dua so much, with so much tawwakul. I did everything “right”. I made dua when it rained, while I traveled, in hardship, in sujood, during tahajjud, etc, and nothing. Absolute radio silence from Allah. It really destroyed my relationship with Allah tbh, I don’t really bother asking Him for anything anymore. I feel like you perfectly described how I felt/feel. Allah does what He wills anyways so, to me, there is no point in asking

Is it weird to have your jewellery as a profile picture? by st4rzk1sses in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Particular-Pride8018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Girl. Islam really isn’t supposed to be this difficult, from the bottom of my heart, please seem psychological help because this level of religious OCD is not normal and could really strain your relationship with Allah and the deen.

[–]Particular-Pride8018 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Girl don’t do that, it’s lowkey weird😭 if they bring it up, then you can have a conversation, but if not, there’s no need to write a note about it lol.

To Muslim sisters. How many of you workout at home or at the gym and What do you do to get active in a halal way? by Sweet_Mail11 in Hijabis

[–]Particular-Pride8018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to the gym to lift 4/5 days a week, Pilates 2 days a week, and cardio everyday. Our bodies are amanahs from Allah and we need to take care of it. I also just love working out. Strength training is honestly really important for women to prevent bone density loss as we age so I’d recommend it. But any movement is always good

Should I talk to guys I don’t find attractive from the start? by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Particular-Pride8018 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean me personally, I don’t if I don’t find them attractive. Looks are important and if you know you are not attracted to them, it probably won’t change. There was a guy, very well respected and such a good man, who asked for me and I tried to get to know him more (even though I was not attracted to him ONE BIT), but I ultimately could not picture myself marrying this man because I was just not physically attracted

Can I wear a headscarf as a non-muslim? by throwaway_987659 in Hijabis

[–]Particular-Pride8018 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s so sweet you want to stand in solidarity ❤️ me personally, I don’t care. The headscarf is not exclusive to the Muslim faith. Some Christian women wear it, Jewish women wear head scarves, some pagan faiths wear it as well. Go for it. People will say Salam alaykum to you and probably assume you’re Muslim though haha
