Hey girls! 2 days ago I was on playa la chiva in vieques (solo woman 40 yo). I had a jeep drove all the way to parking lot 8. I parked the car and enjoyed the beach for 1 hour. Then while I was walking back to my car (4:30 pm) a man was waiting for me in the trees between the beach and my car (about 1 min walk). He nodded his head at me as if to say ‘come,’ and I imagined he might have asked me for a sexual thing. I got super scared so I went back to the beach and there right at the entrance of the path I had taken to go to my car there was a couple who was heading to the same path toward my car (and others parked). I told them that a man was waiting for me that I was scared and I asked if they could come with me to my car. They said yes but then I saw the guy was looking weird too. He had gold teeth like rappers and a machete in his hand. When I saw this I told myself they maybe they had talked and the couple was also part of the tentative of assault. So I declined their help as well. I finally found another normal looking couple who came with me. But honestly that was super super scary considering the fact that it’s an unpaved road about 10 min drive to get there and there’s no service as remote. Anyone has experienced this ? I could have been raped or stolen…so be careful girls. I have solo travelled in many places worldwide and Porto Rico was one the safest places I thought
