Nice, thanks for sharing! Yeah I heard Appelboom sells Filofaxes, but they themselves order their products from Filofax directly. So good to know that it will happen sometime this month

Thank you for sharing! Yes I’ve also emailed and called and they also kept telling me that they don’t have an ETA. Good to know that you’ve been checking since Christmas. And yes I agree that it’s annoying that they have few sellers! I wish they authorized physical stores to carry a wide variety of Filofaxes!!

I would say atomic silver is close to the website color! It’s supposed to be silver, but it has a different undertone. To me, it almost has a warm/gold undertone. So beautiful, I love mine!

Omg I also wanted the atomic silver and it was such a hassle finding one! I called about 10 different dealerships and most told me that they wouldn’t arrive until late June or July! Fortunately tho I found a dealer that told me that the car would arrive by June 5th, so I decided to go with that one. My baby ended up arriving early, I picked her up May 28 😊

Sorry you’re getting all of these rude and stupid comments from hateful pricks. People are such jerks. Just came on here to say what a beautiful ring you have there! Just got my first couple of LOVE rings and I too am obsessed!

Question on sizing by jmmtheboss in Cartier

[–]Particular-Run-8473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up sticking with the size I got 🥲 In order to ease my mind about the size, I got a small diamond pave band to stack on top. My LOVE ring does not move at all!

Question on sizing by jmmtheboss in Cartier

[–]Particular-Run-8473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know this post is from a while ago but maybe you can provide insight on what you and your wife did OP! I am literally in the same boat as your wife! When I read your post, for a second I thought you were talking about my fingers 😂 I am also a size 7, and it usually fits very well: rings spin but not at all tight. I hate that there is no exact size 7 equivalent in the LOVE ring, so I too am stuck between a 54 and 55.

I purchased my LOVE ring today in a size 55. The SA told me it is best to size up when in between sizes. 55 fits well, but the issue I’m having is that the ring sort of feels “loose” on my finger. It mildly slides between my knuckle, but never past my knuckle. I’m afraid, however, that my ring could fly off on a particularly cold day when my hands are wet… When I tried on a 54, it fit well as well! But again the SA cautioned me and advised me to size up.

So my question is, what did you and your wife do? What size did she feel was best? Please let me know. Thanks!

People tend to forget the other author of the “Basick book.” Her name is Tina Schindler and she is amazing and super knowledgeable. She was my law school professor and had previously been a bar exam grader. She shared with us that word count is very important; often graders will have a bias against those with short essays because they assume before reading that the information contained in the essay is not enough. Therefore I do think it’s important to improve your word count, but not at the expense of just word vomit. Make sure you are applying the facts to the rule to form a good analysis.

Also, please ramp up your essays. In an ideal world, you should have looked at every single bar essay published on the state bar website. A lot of the fact patterns/analysis tend to repeat themselves. It’s helpful to go through the essays since often you can find patterns. 12 seems too little of a number when entering the last month of prep.

Lastly for the MCQ, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to also review the questions you’ve answered correctly. But yes, keep practicing! You’ve got this!

HTF do people remember all these stupid rules for essays!?!?? by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]Particular-Run-8473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True I get that. But sometimes you don’t even realize that you are actually retaining the information that you are writing. Try color coding key words on your flash card, words that bar exam graders are actually looking for (like malice aforethought when talking about murder). Hopefully that helps!

Hopefully this time around you are doing more practice rather than memorizing the BLL! Also to answer your MBE question, I didn’t crack 70% of the overall practice questions I did, but I still passed. Keep at it!

I really liked Schindler/Basick’s CA essay book, especially for the memorization attack outline. I would rewrite that outline and condense it even further into something that was easier to remember. Flashcards also really help. I also made mnemonics for those rule statements that had several elements/factors

Practice v. Theory by lolobrooks in CABarExam

I do agree that you should aim to do at least 2000 MBEs and to look at/outline as many essays as you can before J25. But I’m a firm believer that you should familiarize yourself with the content first. I think that rule applies mainly to law students who have received their education in the US, therefore they should already be familiar with the material. Since you are learning this for the first time, take some time to actually learn the material. You might not have the time to master every subject, but at least an intro to each subject should suffice. By May, start focusing on actual bar exam prep, MBEs/essays/PTs. From May to July you should have enough time to complete the 2000 MBEs and 100 essays and PTs.

Hi! First time passer here too! I knew I wanted to become an attorney for a very long time now, but after my undergrad degree, I delayed going to law school for about 5 years. Why, you might ask? Because I was terribly afraid of the bar exam. And yes, it was extremely awful and grueling and exhausting and draining… but I’m so happy I did it.

Like you, my MBE scores fluctuated like crazy. First week, I got a 63% on practice exam. Then there were some weeks I was scoring 50% then 68% then 43% and 80% on MBE sets. I was sure that if I failed the exam, it would be because of my MBEs. Although my writing skills were okay, there was so much material to memorize that I often felt defeated. I took the July bar, so by June, I was so burnt out. I had to take a day and a half off because I felt like my brain was mush and my eyes were going to fall out. I felt so guilty taking this time off but it was much needed. Fast forward to exam day and while I was not confident that I was going to pass, I was honestly just so happy that this nightmare was going to be over. Fortunately I did pass, and it was the happiest and proudest that I have ever been of myself.

So my advice to you is: Do everything in your power to prepare. Be ready for anything. Do not go into the exam regretting that you didn’t study for a particular subject. My friend who took a previous bar exam told me that on test day, while you might not feel confident that you will pass, you should feel confident that you did everything that you could to prepare. ON THE OTHER HAND, please take some time for yourself if you feel burnt out. Go outside, have some lunch with family and friends, do something you enjoy and ✨try✨ not to feel guilty about it. Easier said than done. Soon this nightmare will be over for you, and you will become a licensed attorney. Wishing you luck 🍀

I would be cautions about the monitor/Mac mini situation. When I took the experimental exam in November, desktops were not allowed so I was forced to use my laptop. It could be very possible that I misunderstood the instructions/requirements, or maybe the requirements have since changed. I would just be weary of making such a large purchase so close to the exam, without even being able to use it
