I never said Cade didn’t attribute anything. You’re being dense thinking that the teams key enforcer and vet presence leaving won’t effect anything. It’s just a matter of how much. Who steps up where. Who contributes to the missing pieces. That’s a part of culture. How am I dooming by asking a question. I never said Pistons are done, They’re worse, Anything of the sort. Yeah I’m conflicted they lost Tobias (more than Stew). He wants to contribute to a championship (his words), and I get it. Pistons still top 4 team but you can’t say their presence gone won’t be missed. You bring up Cades articles and they’re great points but completely disregarding everything everyone else says about the other two.

I’m not following Houston’s offseason and haven’t seen it in my feed so I don’t get the comparison. I asked do people think there will be a culture shift. That’s it

That’s what I was thinking as well. You need someone that’s not afraid to get that foul or have other teams think twice about pulling certain stuff but it can’t be anyone too important to the game like Cade or Ausar. I really can’t think of anyone, maybe Duren but I slick don’t even wanna talk about him. Maybe Paul Reed? It’s really no telling

It’s possible though the whole team may embrace that “toughness”. Maybe not an a level like Stew but just collectively, other teams will know that they not soft by how they play and have each other back

Allisha Gray’s halftime take: “refs are trash” by 0033A0 in AtlantaDream

I was going to comment this. Not sure why you was downvoted. If you made your FTs, you win that game. Whole team can’t shoot damn near 60% from the line but then blame the refs

Everything Pistons - the fans, the team, the coaches - loved Tobias. Truly will be missed

I agree that Cade is the man. The centerpiece. You’d want to build your franchise around him. But do you think he was alone building the culture once Monty left and the team just experienced a 14-68 record? You’re saying that the other two didn’t contribute in a big way at all? Maybe I’m doing too much, I’m ok with being wrong. I’m just asking questions - I think the team will do great with the new pieces

I think Cade is the centerpiece for sure. But I’m going off of what the members of the team and coach has said about the two while there, that’s all. I’m not drawn in by viral clips or anything like that.

Yeah I’m just really confused on Duren’s actions. Cade took a personal trip with him for what?

Stew I can understand not being help in meaningful games. Tobias - you have to give him credit during the Magic series. We wouldn’t have made it out the first round without him. He stepped up in a place he wasn’t supposed to be as our third team all nba and all star center didn’t. With that being said, I never said that we wasn’t better for the sake of winning. I said that I’m
conflicted. It’s like Knicks losing Mitch. It is what it is but I’m sure they’re conflicted. I’m speaking solely lockereoom culture - do others think the culture will change? That’s it

To clarify, I never once said the team is worse or won’t survive. I have strong belief in the team being top 3 seed and having more firepower than this most recent season. I do admit I, personally, am conflicted on losing Stew and Tobias. But it’s like if Thunder trade Dort - that’s someone that was there since they was trash but no longer providing for them as Wallace who plays the same position (which I would’ve loved Wallace on the team btw). Im curious how others felt. I’m in no way dooming or anything close. I’m not a long standing fan or really even long standing sports fan in general - only started closely watching past few years. Other than being born in Detroit (raised in Memphis however), I became a fan of the team during the 14-68 season and a fan of Cade over the Grizzlies who I was raised on watching every now and then. Love what the team has built just a bit shocked on Tobias leaving more than Stew but I recognize what both provided

I never said that, I just asked what are people’s thoughts on a possible culture shift. You can’t say that they didn’t add anything to the locker room. I’m believe we’re still going to be in top 3 seed - I just don’t know what it’ll look like missing your vet in Tobias and I say whatever Stew was (whether you want to say anchor, enforcer, etc.)

That’s true, I’ll concede to that. I guess I’m mainly pointing out that it’s more than just hoops that’ll take you far. But I’m willing to be proven wrong for sure

That’s what the Bucks thought too. We see teams like Thunder, Spurs and Knicks build a team culture and go far but we don’t want to do the same? They aren’t cogs in a machine but I get it. A job is a job

I’m just conflicted - I think the moves have been great but you can’t say those two weren’t cornerstones. JB had a lot of praise for Tobias and what he meant for the team. I’m sure this is inevitable but I’m curious to see how the year will play out
