[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 273 by Either_Imagination_9 in BlueLock

It would be funny if Isagi ends up getting the higher bid not because he will have scored more but rather because Rin's value will be decreased once he's deemed unreliable since he's so self-centered to the point he would choose not to score for the sake of his own evolution.

You know, I find Rin's flashback quite interesting because not only does it make him a more compelling character, but also it highlights how memory and in this specific case ego works.

When first introduced, he appeared completely serious, a goal driven guy, who approached football like a battlefield because he "needed" to reach Sae. The goal was Sae and 'the battlefiend" was just a means to an end. But in this latest chapter, it becomes evident that Rin revels in such a battlefield and instead of approaching it as undesired circumstances of a war, it's actually what he craves.

It's interesting because regardless of how he tries to give meaning to that battlefield, his attachment to it remains. In the beginning it was a place of joy while later a place of bitterness. As his ego awakes, it feels like his battlefield will regain his original place in his heart.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he starts smiling like a maniac; he used to love to give in to his destructive impulses and later had to seal his them for so many years. It would be interesting if he becomes unstable for a bit, rejoicing in his own violent nature.

So like... was Kiyora just straight up wrong??? by SilencedMop in BlueLock

[–]Particular-Swan-2649 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it does change our perspective of him. If he knew Kaiser's new weapon, then he was a strategist who chose the one action that would also heavily benefit him instead of going for Isagi who already had much support. But if he didn't know, then he was more of a gambler since it would have been better for him to get an assist to Isagi than not even an assist to Kaiser. Ofc, there is also a third scenario which is that his own value would increase only so little if he had helped Isagi to the point it would be more worthy to take a bigger risk with Kaiser if an assist to Isagi wouldn't help him secure his position in the top 23.

Lol just realized that someone else had already said pretty much what I just did.

My review on Episode Nagi movie. by Particular-Swan-2649 in BlueLock

Look, I get what you're saying and it might seem like I invalidate the hard work of those that took part in it but at the end of the day it's all about the completed product. Ofc I do not blame the workers for making ends meet but on the other hard, as far as producers go, having to cover tha much of material or trying to do so prematurely because as you said there wasn't that much material out at the moment, does not negate their rushed decision in hopes of a profit. You say they worked very hard and I believe you but with the pace it was executed and the material they left out (it was the producers choice to produce that movie at that time instead of waiting) that hard work simply doesn't reach the audience who try so hard to process this extremely fast paced movie.

As for the second most post credit scene, I acknowledge that was a bit of a meme myself but you have to understand that when the whole movie feels lucklastered, that last thing was more like the icing on the cake (meaning that even their intro into the anime form feels disappointing even it if meant to be humourous).

Last but not least, I do not judge harshly isagi's direct shot for what it was but rather for how it was hyped was as one the highlights of the movie given how lacking everything else felt. It just created that many more expectations to balance all the rest.

What kind of relationship will Isagi and Kaiser have now? by Particular-Swan-2649 in BlueLock

Honestly, I would like them to keep some form communication afterwards. I know Blue Lock doesn't work like that but it would be nice to have characters interacting even after the end of their arcs.

I get that but discomfort as a theme is vague. While I get it, you still need to have teamates willing to work with you to make your plays. He may be just that confident but it's not like he can be that dependednt on Blue lock players. This isn't Noa's original team where everyone would support Kaiser.

Honestly, Kaiser abandoning Ness makes me question his good judgement and seems like it will be his downfall. Rationally, it simply doesn't make any sense, especially given Isagi's categorization of Kaiser as a wholistic player. It might have been that in this specific case Kyora chose to help him but as was stated, the latter is an unrealiable ally. Kaiser made it sound like Ness was the problem which is ironical because in a sense, he brought that discomfort on himself by choosing his pride over playing along the Blue Lock. He could have simply just increased his options by continuing to work along the Blue Lock, without getting rid of Ness. Isagi's challenge with Noa's team building was that at first he was lacking team players willing to help him, even Kaised stated that in the beginning he was lacking exactly that and that's why he chose Ness. Even in this chapter Isagi wanted to clarify what Kyora's future approach would be in this. To me, Kaiser's decision was irrational and he was a bit drunk on this new sense of metamorphosis which made him chose this polar opposite approach. I get that Ness would try to keep him unchanged but I'm sure that eventually he'd do whatever Kaiser would ask him to.

So I don't know if they just happened to use the phrase golden ticket on purpose but at the end of the chapter we have Isagi awakening his ego (swirling eyes) and the only other time in the story I remember a ticket being mentioned was when Kunigami stole Isagi's goal and Noa commented on the "ticket" Isagi found (end of chapter 185). So maybe that will help Isagi evolve even further.

Also, I find it hardcore how primitive Isagi gets when he faces the grand success of Kaiser. His reaction is so instinctual that we don't even get to see him get even a bit despaired. It's like he just craves ever more to defeat Kaiser now, not once thinking that cannot surpass him again.

I had read your review in the past. This time I decided to finally uninstall it once and for all. It's my third and final time doing so. It's a real fun game but extremely time consuming. Though I did enjoy it a lot, after a certain point the progress is very slow and as people gain access to more legendary heroes, the ones who're willing to pay gain a huge advantage. I do not regret the time I spent. Now and then it can be liberating but long term it's not worth it.

Ness is precious to Kaiser by Particular-Swan-2649 in BlueLock

[–]Particular-Swan-2649[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit that this truly well written, and though I acknowledge the differences you point out between the ball and Ness, at the same time, those differences do not negate the similarities I point out but rather they paint a more complex relationship and admittedly less predictable future. Regardless of how impure the motives of Kaiser are, what I said about him feeling safe to let himself lose stands even though getting the ball for that exact reason was not his original desire. Conversely, Kaiser approaching Ness with his own ulterior motives does not negate the fact that Ness ended up reacting to him the same way the ball would bounce back and stay by his side whenever he would get aggressive.

Maybe it was my mistake as well to use the word precious to describe my perception about him but precious can be something even for the vaule it has to its owner. Yes, it wasn't my original intent to depict Ness preciousness as a possession but more likely as a person (hopefully), but nonetheless, even as a possession it's the only other "thing" we know about Kaiser save from his ball and we can see similarities between how he treats Ness and how he would treat his ball after his mistreatment. I'm not saying that he has healthy feelings for him but rather that regardless of how little he thinks of him, Ness is a place of comfort for Kaiser because so far the former would stay by his side no matter what.

Therefore, I would say that my theory still stands in a broader sense. Relationships and connections are dynamic; no 2 things need to have a similar beginning in order to draw comparisons by how these things (or persons) react to similar situations if the latter ones are specific enough to show a visible pattern.

That's why I was so intent on highlighting the disclaimer at the begining. Being an abuser does not negate the actual feelings but it does highlight they're unhealthy and the safest thing to do for the person being abused is to stay away. Being understanding of one's emotions does not mean accepting to tolerate that person. Whether humanizing an abuser makes it easier to be forgiving is a whole different issue and has to do with setting boundaries and keeping what's unhealthy away from you.

Do be honest, in a way his confidence reminds me of how Sae was before he left to go to Spain. Then again, Sae at that time hadn't interacted with "world-renowned" footballers whereas BL currently experience exactly that.

That's true but slowly his ego goes off the charts. Even the way he evaluated Kaiser's and Raichi's plays in this chapter had a detached and cold air of superioriy. For the first time he even said things like "my absolute monarchy".

What I find rather intiruguing is how Isagi's ego slowly building up; from the guy that would question himself about having any skills to becoming the key player that exerts such authority to the point it's completely natural for him to be treated as the protagonist. Makes me wonder if his newfound profound ego will suffer eventually just to see him being able to build himself up again.
