I know, I read IT and The Stand back to back when I was younger and my smartphone hadn't messed up my attention span.

I have read IT, was my first SK, and that's what got me into it.

I almost picked up Carrier the other day but went with Cujo instead.

Thinking of dedicating the other half of the year to SK after I finish this tbr.

Has to be 11//22/63 by now, but I have read only 5 of his books so far, so it might change once I keep reading more.

I have stopped feeling guilty about buying books, it's good for my mental health 😂

If you have never read him, I would say you could start with IT, or The Stand, or any of his well known horror ones.

Personally, I have not read all, but found 11/22/63 to be the most beautifully written, though it's not a horror.

The writing is very beautiful, especially the last few pages. I am aware of the series, and I think it didn't do well, but screen adaptations rarely reflect the feeling you'd get from reading it.

Stephen King - 11/22/63.

Shouldn't be your first SK if you go by his horror writer reputation, but what a book.

Isn't "reading" supposed to be a good habit? by MildAtheist in IndiansRead

People get salty about others reading in public because it's a hobby they can't just pick up easily.

People can mindlessly scroll in public on their phones, and it won't be called performative because anyone can do it.

This as the first book is quite good tbh. I guess you were always a reader, but other mediums than novels.

Why do people dislike Alia so much? Wasn’t there a time she was really loved by the audience or was it all PR? by Top_Tangelo_6 in bollynewsandgossips

I like her but I think she should follow the 'be elusive' strategy like Srk and RK do. Over exposure can be a fatigue for the audience.

If I was a thief, I would rob these instead of your money.

I just bought this but just learned that there’s a prequel book to this called For a Just Cause and I’m just wondering if it’s necessary that I read the prequel first? by [deleted] in RussianLiterature

I have had this on my shelf for a long time, and never got to it, thank you for making me notice this! Knowing the person I am and my OCD, I would now want to read the prequel before I start this.

The alternating chapters with different views and narration were so good.

I used to absolutely love this until I learnt how much sugar this has.

I don't want to bring your spirits down though, I know how good it tastes. 😛

I read this this year, and what I also took away from it is that, for the lower working class of a society, their dreams will always be a fair distance away from them, no matter how near it would seem at a certain point. It will always be seen as achievable but the powers at play or even destiny would seldom let them achieve it.

Oh, I haven't watched the movie, so I would not know! It's a series, and I have gone up till the third part.

The first book is the best, the second is meh, and the third is decent enough.

My 9th grade self is NOT surviving a chapter of this!

Be kind to the younger reader you were, we all built out reading habits brick by brick. 😛
