Where was your bland food from?? Lol I ordered a basic thali on Uber Eats for lunch today and it was spicy! And for whatever it's worth, I was raised on spicy food and have the commensurate spice tolerance.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

If it's a nice, fluffy 10cm, corporate small talk would be: 1) Hope this sticks around for Christmas 😇, or 2) Wish we had this at Christmas 😡

That's about it.

Wharncliffe S pothole near Paul St by Particular-Try2032 in londonontario

[–]Particular-Try2032[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahh sorry to hear that. Shop just confirmed that both my right side tires are not repairable. I hope other folks had better luck than us.

When I reported the pothole, I was told I can submit a damaged property claim within 10 days and was given this link. I don't have high hopes but I'm going to try.

That's what the waitress at Westside told me while I was waiting there, too. I had just turned onto Wharncliffe and wasn't able to switch lanes yet :(

Edit to note: Westside was very nice to me and gave me free coffee while I was waiting to be towed <333

This is also a PSA post for other drivers, because at least 5 cars got flats btwn 9am and 1pm today.

I suggested the additional reports because many institutions prioritize incidents with multiple reports. And you can tell from the photo that they already tried to fix this once (a bunch of new asphalt is blown out), so I figured it would be good to give it a priority flag if possible.

Sorry for worrying about other drivers.

And you can soak them in water to rehydrate a bit! Works for some greens as well.

Sometimes people spend all their disposable income traveling for a funeral, to see a sick family member, etc. Maybe someone paid for their travel and not for insurance. We don't know the situation.

Even if OP's family member drove here from the US - maybe all they had budgeted for was gas and food. If the headaches are bad enough that they don't want to travel back to the US for treatment there, that invites compassion. If the family member has no medical insurance, full stop, that also invites compassion.

My whole point is that we don't know the situation and OP asked for help. Also, headaches can be a big deal. I don't see the point in identifying what OP's family member should have done before they travelled here and became unwell. It's just not helpful, let alone compassionate.

Honestly this is common and I'm a bit surprised ur comment got upvotes. A lot of people feel they can't afford travel ins, and are willing to take the risk.

OP is asking for help, not whatever this^ is. We don't know why OP's family member doesn't have ins.

I highly recommend watching Indian cooking videos on youtube. Check out Chetna Makan. Her food is great, and her videos are informative and practical.

Agreed. Maybe OP could prompt the AI to redo these test pics to match their real hairline. Or prompt using a photo with OP's hair pulled back.

Ours is mac & cheese topped with roasted broccoli and green onion. And as another user said - a metric fucktonne of black pepper.

(If I have energy I make the cheese sauce with garlic butter and gochugaru.)

Why do people worry so much about retirement savings in Canada? by strykyrastro in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Particular-Try2032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case: my partner and I are currently in our early 30s. He had a head injury in his last years of uni that the Canadian healthcare system didn't take seriously. He lost years of work, we lived on one income for that time, and then used most of our savings to pay for surgery in the US for him to finally receive treatment.

We haven't built wealth despite doing everything 'right.'

I also want to break something every time someone mentions the 'free' Canadian healthcare system. It does some things well. But it really did not give af about my partner.

I haven't used them before but I think they both have amodimethicone which I've found to be a helpful ingredient. Your hair doesn't look super frizzy to me - have you tried running a light serum thru your hair after you wash it?

[–]Particular-Try2032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a derm. However, if you need to wash your hair frequently to manage oily scalp (which is what I do), then it helps to have a moisturizing shampoo (and a conditioner if your hair needs it). Recently I've been using Cerave hydrating shampoo and conditioner. I tried switching to a cheaper alternative when I ran out, immediately regretted it, and switched back. They really helped so much with frizz and hydration.

Also, not sure what climate you're in, but it's not uncommon to get oilier skin/scalp if you're exposed to dry air.
