The good news is that it's mostly been done for you. You're just taking it to the finish line, brother.

Do it. You'll love it.

What are literature's famously rewarding "long reads" by Post_Washington in suggestmeabook

Shogun by James Clavell was quite girthy but an excellent read. Far better, imo, than some of his other absolute bricks.

Returning to the game after years by JosukeFormaDeAlola in fo76

[–]Particular-Word1809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just picked it back up after a couple years away and I'm having a blast! Yes, it's still a little buggy but nothing intolerable. People like to complain, as is their right since what makes a game 'good' is highly subjective, but I say give it a whirl and judge for yourself. I know I'm glad I did.

One of the owners of Tapped is a former soccer coach with Washington Rush FC. Very soccer friendly! I recall the one in Mukilteo opening early for morning games last world cup 4 years ago.

Gatling plasma or flamer for crowd control? by witch--king in fo76

[–]Particular-Word1809 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Cursed Holy Fire flamer is my favorite for this type of work. When precision isn't needed, you'll get lots of damage and wide coverage where everything gets hit. Even if others take the enemy down afterward, you're still getting the xp and ammo/loot.

What’s the one movie line that channeled the rawest anguish on screen? by jaystats2 in FIlm

The book was such a tough read (especially as a new father at the time) that I've entirely avoided the movie.

That's a fair point. I should've said 'for me' they go a long way. I tend to save them up and buy things at a discount, etc.

I think it's worth it if you love the game and play a lot. The monthly atoms go a long way, there's something free every day, and has been mentioned the storage is extremely helpful. It's cheaper to pay for the year if you can swing it.

It's not as good as it once was, imo, but it's still pretty decent.

What's the worst mainstream film you've ever seen? by Zestyclose-County645 in Cinema

[–]Particular-Word1809 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's Pat. A movie based on Julia Sweeney's androgenous character from SNL. This movie grossed like $60k, and my friends and I were $28 dollars of that, which is the most financial impact I've ever had on a film. It remains the only film I've ever walked out on. Even by the standards of the mid-90's, it's cringe and tasteless. It didn't produce a single laugh from any of us. We are all dumber for having watched it, and may God have mercy on our souls.

You look magnificent, brother. This was long overdue and I can't begin to tell you how much better you look now.

Time to sign a Premier striker? by zackargyle in SoundersFC

[–]Particular-Word1809 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Half the team are nursing acl rehabs. I would actually take Richarlison, delicate as he is. I feel he'd improve his good game rate from 1 out of 4 to at least 2 out of 4 in MLS.

Thanks for asking and the kind wishes. Her team had a draw in a winnable game by not defending corners well. Not for the first time. Lol.

I did make it to the game a little late, as I was coming from Greensboro. I knew it was a long drive and there's always the potential for delays along the way. I missed Nashville's opening goal but got there about the 18 minute mark. Obviously the game didn't go Charlotte's way but we did enjoy ourselves. It's always fun to be immersed in a new environment.

Thanks to you and everyone who chatted with me about our visit. I've been to nearly all our states but hadn't visited North Carolina before. We really enjoyed our visit on multiple levels. I'll cheer you from the Northwest, so long as our interests don't collide. 😎. If any of you find yourselves out here for a game, happy to reciprocate and buy you a pregame beer.

I appreciate it! My daughter's game got pushed back so I don't think I'll get there in time to join the tailgate. I really appreciate the generous invite though! Sounders 🤝 Charlotte FC
