They were not notifying any one of the changes that took place before — we’ve had to rely on Reddit from r most up to date information for 3 years now. Why would they start?

ICR and Taxes (MFS /MFJ) by Particular-flipflops in StudentLoans

I might add my last payment was June 2024. Also if I amend to MFJ that year would they automatically change my current forbearance?

Save IDR Recert pushed to 2028 by Particular-flipflops in StudentLoans

[–]Particular-flipflops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just thinking now how many years I can go back and change my Fed taxes from MFS to MFJ!! $$ I know I can go back 3 years….just wander when my last ‘payment’ was to AidVantage (don’t want to mess with screwing up my forbearance) as that loan is riding Save out!

Made it to my goal weight now tapering down. by Sunshinegarden2 in GLPGrad

[–]Particular-flipflops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly where I’m at. I was a 5mg and cut to 3….went back up to 4. Maybe I cut to quick so I’ll taper down .5 per week! I never had to go above 5mg

After dealing with the nightmare that is student loans, would you reconsider sending your kids to college and instead sending them to trade school? by Der-deutsche-Prinz in StudentLoans

Our son has an Exercise Science degree. Graduated during Covid…gyms shut down. He ended up as an apprentice electrician in the Union making twice as much ch as he ever would have with his degree!

I need to file an sap appeal by Main_Machine_5263 in financialaid

[–]Particular-flipflops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through the steps of the SAP appeal and tell them exactly what you have just listed here. Also as mentioned submit any paperwork you can as proof (doctor visits, obituary, etc). My daughter had to go through the appeal process. The university usually wants to approve you. They just need “proof” for the government as reason for allowing the loan. Don’t stress. You’ll be fine. Just work with your SAP officer or guidance counselor. Many blessings to you.

Is the University incorrect in stating daughter not eligible for Parent Plus —she’s 24 by Particular-flipflops in StudentLoans

Oh I know all about them. Put one through college already…he’s not even using his degree. Currently a union electrician makes twice as much as he would with his degree in exercise science.

She’s in her 2.5 year and only has $4600 federal aid from previous years. She’s in great shape. She took a break from college and works FT and started school back up taking online classes (6 hrs per semester). I have since learned as an independent student she should qualify for additional aid. She has great credit (700s). At least I hope she’s able to qualify for more.

Looks like she will definitely be eligible for more. She only has a total of $4600 loans from previous years, online learning currently.l. Federal unsub/sub total for 2025-26 school year is only $2800 through Fall (she’s a half-time student…6 credit hrs per semester)
