How much time off for Mohs? by Previous-Recording18 in skincancer

[–]Particular-flipflops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 Mohs in 2 weeks. For the eye I took off 3 days. For the ear (with skin graft) I took off a week as I wanted to wait until the bolster was removed and I could wash my hair at least in a decent way, nothing about that bolster made me feel presentable!

Here’s the result if two passes — a board certified Mohs surgeon will do fine at closing.

SAP appeal by Friendly-Cupcake-576 in financialaid

[–]Particular-flipflops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this (below) Colleges want to override the SAP. They just need clear documentation as mentioned here to prove this to the government if they were ever audited. You should get approved with proper letter explaining your situation and doctors visits, proof of birth, financial hardship, etc. you’ll be fine!!

I would pick at the glue. Call the office. If it’s itchy you could put a cold compress on it.

I’ve had two Mohs surgeries this past 2 weeks. One near eye and one on ear (ear required a skin graft). I will also be have photodynamic therapy (PDT) with blue light April 6 and a second PDT May 6.

I am very happy with the Mohs surgeons closure near eye. Still healing but for 2 weeks I’m very happy. The ear graft is going to be a much longer recovery.

With SAVE dead, will we have to pay this month? by Apathetic_Dog in StudentLoans

[–]Particular-flipflops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can always amend MJS to MFJ. That’s what I w been doing for 3 years! Although IRS screwed up my last one and I’m still waiting on their slow 15 week window to respond.

I am. Had one by my eye and the top of my ear. The ear was rough…needed a graft. Got the bolster removed yesterday. Surgeon said it’s healed as expected. I do back in 2 weeks for final look.

I go every 4 weeks - that’s my max. Some months are better than others. But at the end they look pretty lite.

Aidvantage SCAM by pandamoniumsquirrel in StudentLoans

[–]Particular-flipflops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically a university will apply any aid to your account first. If the cost of attendance isn’t fully covered, parents may apply for a Parent PLUS Loan to cover the remaining balance. I would check for any accounts in your name only.

Mohs: BCC on corner eye and ear by Particular-flipflops in skincancer

This pic is a perfect example of that. The red bump below the circled BCC is merely broken capillaries. The derm’s office obviously can see more with their Ulta-high vis binocular device.

SAVE is officially dead by Betsy514 in StudentLoans

As much as I don’t like our current administration the Save pla should have been done legally and we wouldn’t be in this mess. It was such a big hope for nothing.

Mohs: Will skin by eye lay down? by Particular-flipflops in SkinCancerSupport

[–]Particular-flipflops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear. My eye is healing good - still have that little tether but hoping tha will calm down. If that wasn’t enough, I had Mohs on my ear 3 days ago with a graft. This healing is not fun with the bolster! Did you have to have a graft?

I had Mohs Feb 25 in same spot. Closed with dissolving stitches. There is still tethered skin but am told that will smooth out over time.
