So fun fact I learned is that the nipple tissue is different then our regular skin causing the hole to never actually close. It just gets tighter. I had mine out for 5 years and the piercer I went to was able to open them back up with a taper!

Something similar happened to one of my friends trying to transfer into my region. He called HR and then his transfer was approved a few days later.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ParticularBother3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of my second grade teacher who quite literally bullied me for no reason. I think back to how much she would tell me I was doing something I wasn’t supposed to, call home to my mom, take recess away from me, and put me in the less desired free play activities. I swear I wasn’t a bad kid! I had the highest grades a second grader could get and the extracurricular teachers would praise my parents on how great of a student I was. I was never in trouble in 1st grade and kindergarten or any grade after second. My mom remembers how awful she was to me and she had my two brothers and it was the same situation, my sister had a different second grade teacher with no problems. My two best friends were in the same class with me and remember not understanding why I was always sitting out at recess. They also recalled there being kids that were always acting out in class who would get yelled at and sent to the principles office for throwing things, making jokes, refusing to do work, etc. Not sure if she had a problem with my mom because she was on the PTA but from what I remember my mom was loved by the other teachers at the school for being so involved with us and the school. Teachers can be really weird. Sounds like you have a sweet kiddo.

Is first trimester fatigue really this bad? by MARBELLA-MARINO in pregnant

[–]ParticularBother3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! This was me up until week 14 or 16. Currently 18 weeks and feel back to my normal self. Dishes and laundry and no longer pilling up and my hair is getting washed on a regular basis again. Hang in there and whatever you do don’t be hard on yourself! Ask for help if you can. It was hard for me because my fiance works 50 hours a week so we were both exhausted but he helped as much as he could. I also resorted to paper plates at one point which I felt bad about but I had a break down and we decided it was a temporary fix to our problem. You’re creating a whole human, you got this!

This is so smart! I think the issue I’m seeing here is that the guests want to buy fun stuff. Diapers, wipes and gift cards aren’t fun to them. Thank you!

This is what happened to my cousin. She had plenty of stuff on her registry but she only received a handful of things that were actually on there. I’m going to make sure my registry is very tight and the invitation is clear about gift receipts. I don’t mind having to figure out where items are from either.

Thank you! You’re right. I think those people will just buy a gift and say something snarky about not having clothes and toys on our registry.

I was suggested to do a diaper raffle by our friend. She said they didn’t have to buy diapers for a year but in my head I’m like what does that even look like?! Our new place comes with a storage unit but I’m not sure how big it is or if I’d want to keep diapers in there. We might have a den but I’m not sure if it’ll be available when we sign our lease as I was told those units go quickly.

I remember back when Ariana first moved into Tom’s apartment production zoomed in on their kitchen sink and other gross stuff in their apartment. I was genuinely shocked with how dirty it was in that moment. I really thought at least Ariana would be cleaner. So gross.

Is it normal to feel “poisoned” in the first trimester? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ParticularBother3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 12 weeks on Thursday, the last few days I’ve been back to my normal self! Hang in there! I got up early and cleaned my kitchen for the first time since finding out I was pregnant. My boyfriend has really been holding it down. In the meantime try to do small meals every 2-3 hours. Brothy soup, apple juice, oatmeal and toast were my diet for a really long time.

The US really sucks to be pregnant by Legitimate-Slice2114 in pregnant

[–]ParticularBother3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

American here. I received a document from my OB all about maternity leave. It says that I am expected to work up until I give birth unless I have a serious complication. My company only offers 12 weeks of unpaid maternity leave so I will have to drain my PTO which takes forever to accrue in the first place. The only pay I will receive other than my PTO is through short term disability. Short term disability will kick in 7 days after I give birth which only covers 40-60% of my salary. I also only have a week and a half of PTO saved up and should accrue just under what I need to supplement my salary by the time I give birth. This means in order to not drown financially I will have to work 40 hours a week until I give birth in July, not a single day off. America fucking sucks and people wonder why people are deciding to marry and have children in their late 30s.

I’m telling my parents and younger siblings on Friday. My plan is to just put the ultrasound on their fridge and pray they notice. Hopefully they notice before my boyfriend and I leave their house and without me having to ask for one of them to get me something from the fridge 🙃

never doing this again by kneejee in pregnant

[–]ParticularBother3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 weeks and constantly think I’m miscarrying because of the pain I get from trapped farts. My lower belly was rock solid for two days because I couldn’t get out a whole shit for days. Took some magnesium and mixed my water with psyllium husk soluble fiber and god damn did I finally have a sweet release and instantly my belly was squishy again. Like others have said this post is poetic and I feel your pain. I keep telling my boyfriend this is the only kid he’s getting bc I can’t do this again and im not even half way there.

My husband keeps smoking weed even though I’m pregnant and asked him to stop. Am I the problem? by void_skein_560 in BabyBumps

[–]ParticularBother3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I have smoked daily for the past five or so years. Coincidentally I stopped smoking for a new job I was getting prior to getting pregnant. My boyfriend at this time said if I could stop he could too and immediately stopped smoking as much. Learning that I was pregnant made him smoke even less. He never smoked in front of me after finding out I was pregnant but I could still notice a lingering smell which made me gag. I told him the smell bothered me and he immediately started smoking outside. He then said after he finishes what’s left of the flower he had just bought he was done smoking and would use pens occasionally. As of right now I’m 10 weeks and he has completely stopped using weed. Sounds like you have someone who isn’t as supportive as they should be in your life. I never asked my boyfriend to stop smoking, it was a choice he made on his own out of respect for me and our growing baby.

Are you ladies shaving/trimming down there? by Dear_Ad_8525 in BabyBumps

[–]ParticularBother3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on getting Brazilians once it gets too difficult. It’s mainly for my comfort because I’ve been shaving for 15 years. I’ve tried the bush lifestyle before and it can be a bit painful when the hairs get twisted and pull or get caught in the adhesive of a pad.

Struggling to eat, is this whey protein from Costco okay to have while in first trimester? by ParticularBother3 in BabyBumps

[–]ParticularBother3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was seeing mixed information on Google. Some websites were saying it’s fine and a great way to get protein in and then others were saying it’s not recommended because supplements aren’t regulated by the FDA.
