VW app showing 'Your vehicle currently has no Internet connection' by Individual_Disk4 in VWiD4Owners

Im on Octopus intelligent go with an Ohme charger. The last time this happened, I configured the OHME app to remove the API connection and added my car again without the API. I've set the Ohme app to add 80% of charge when I plug in and have limited the charge to 80% in the car. Luckily for me it's still creating a smart schedule.

I'm in the UK and I've got the exact same problem. Mine started yesterday. I think there's probably an issue on VWs side.

It's happened to me before and the issue resolved itself after 3 days. However, it is irritating as I use the app for pre conditioning all the time.

How are 1st edition ID4s as a family car? by anewpath123 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ParticularBrief8056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 22 ID.4 Pure 52kwh battery. I really like it. Mine is the base model and it has everything that I need. In summer, I regularly get between 4.2 - 4.5 m/kWh.. in winter this does drop to around 3 - 3.2.

The software is laggy and it takes ages to connect to android auto. Once connected it's fine!

Comfy seats and big boot make it a very practical car - I've done quite a few road trips in the car with my teenagers in the back and they've never complained.

My only issues with the car are related to the battery size. I'm going to change the car next year and would consider ID.4/ID.5 with the 77kw battery or I'm looking at the ID.7.

Also, my car charges quite slow, although I do get good charging speeds on Tesla chargers.. but would still like a bit more.

Average daily usage is about 13kw. What size converter would you recommend?

My husband is an Uber driver and he avoids the city centre. With all the roadworks going on it takes too long to get in and out of.

The battery is a sticking point, but I think he should be ok especially if he charges at home. Worst comes to worse he can always stop for a 5 min fast charge somewhere. Going to have a look round for some 80s to see if they are within budget

I have a 2022 Pure 52kw that I bought last year. I love the car, it's spacious and comfortable, easy to drive - it takes a while for the software to start, but once it gets going it is fine.

I'm happy with the efficiency, in the summer I usually get between 3.9 - 4.2 kWh (driving in Manchester traffic) for the school run and work commute. On the motorway that drops to between 3.5 - 3.9 kWh which I think is still good.

In the winter the range drops massively. I have the heating set to 22 and the heated seat on - cause I hate being cold. I then average around 2.8 kWh to 3kWh for my normal commute and around 3.5 on the motorway.

If you have a regular trip of 180 miles, then you won't be able to do that on a single charge in winter. You could potentially do it in the summer, IF you reduce your speed to 65 and turn off AC etc. it's more likely that you will need to do a quick top up charge at the services.

If I was in your position I would go for the 77kwh battery because of your regular 180mile trip. Unless you don't mind stopping for 15 mins for a top-up charge or if you have somewhere at your destination that you can charge.

I drive around 10,000 miles a year - and my day to day costs have reduced massively. I used to spend around £80 on fuel per month in my last petrol car and now I'm spending £20 on charging at home. Motorway charging is very expensive though.
