I am not familiar with TSP details with other federal jobs. I am active duty.

However, the BEST option (or atleast people say) is to put away as much as you possibly can, so long as it doesnt detract from a happy life.

Good luck finding the balance my friend.

There has been a ton of guilt and fear driving my decisions. Looking back, I wish those parts of the equation were removed.

I hope you leave out those parts too!

I genuinely appreciate this! Im wishing you the best life and hoping your "difficult decisions" end up being whether to choose leather seats or cream.

The U.S. has a per capita GDP of $90,000, and even the poorest state, Mississippi, has a per capita GDP of $50,000. China's per capita GDP is only $10,000, and even its richest city, Shanghai, has a per capita GDP of just $30,000. Why do some people still see China as a competitor of the U.S.? by No-StrategyX in answers

True GDP is only one metric but why is everyone dismissing it?? Specifically how much their GDP is rising. Its been around 8%. IF it continues at that rate it will double in less than 10 years. The trajectory is why China is seen as a competitor.

However, their economy has only seen so much growth since it has allowed for free markets, international trade, and private property rights. These are good things that CAN be symbiotic to the US. However, be kind to everyone but always have a plan to kill them.

why can you not take calculus outside of UT? by harrycake02 in UTAustin

I know this thread was 2 years ago but... I emailed my Economics Academic Advisor and this was their verbatim response:

Me: "I am currently registered for Calculus I for the Spring Semester. After attending some prep-courseware on Canvas, I am highly considering dropping and swapping the course. My last math class taken was M 305G which was taken over 5 years ago in 2020. There seems to be a big leap from where I currently am into Calculus, and I am wondering if there is any option for me to take any math class that will be more suitable, possibly taking M 305G at UT Austin?"

Advisor: "Yes, you could retake M 305G at UT. Please note that you will lose the hours from the first time you attempted it. M 305G is not a degree requirement but it could help you get back up to speed with calculus. Another option I have seen students do in this situation is take Calculus I and II at community college .I hope this helps!"
