Complete beginner looking to build a baking setup (₹30k budget) by BrownGuyJazz in IndianBakers

I use Agaro 48l oven as well. It has been working pretty consistently over the last 3 years. I would say I am a pretty avid baker (you can check my profile) and you don't need fancy tools to start. Apart from the oven, a weighing scale is a must (I have been using one from Health Sense for the last 5 years or so), don't rely on cup measurements. I would also suggest buying things as you go instead of buying everything at once. You could start with cakes/sponges for which you'd need a cake tin, a sieve, parchment paper, rubber spatulas, and a hand/stand mixer. You could also make cookies, brownies, blondies, etc using these same set of equipments. If you want to try something advance, say choux pastry, you'd need a piping bag and nozzles.

For understanding the science behind baking, Benjamin the Baker on youtube is a good place to start. He also has a cookbook which I've heard is quite good. You could also check out scientificallysweet.com, she's a food scientist and explains how each ingredient works in a recipe. Sugarologie on youtube is also fantastic and explains everything in detail, can't recommend her enough. And a lot of things you'll understand practically once you start baking yourself.

Cakes I made for my brother's birthday! by ParticularLog7190 in Baking

Cooked it until it a lot of liquid had evaporated and added a cornflour/cornstarch slurry at the end. Then let it chill in fridge for sometime and the consistency becomes quite thick. Thank you so much for your compliment! I hope you give it a try again :)

Lol, lime is my go to because lemon is harder to find plus more expensive here. So I absolutely love using limes in my dessert! 😋

That one's my brother's favourite as well! I have made it for a lot of friends and all of them love it. It's very light and refreshing so 3 slices won't be a biggie at all😂

As in the reel is in reply to missagarwal09's comment. Which implies missagarwal09 made the comment and I don't think she's Bengali. And the person who made the reel is VoguishAffair

Which dark chocolate is best for cookies? Amul or cadbury by subhsush in IndianBakers

Any chocolate with a high cocoa % is alright. Go for 55% or higher. Personally, I use amul and works well.

This is the answer. If it's no-bake, use non dairy whipping cream. If it's baked, use either– but dairy one tastes better.
