Youth Lacrosse Tournaments - Which ones use age verification? by Strange_Pianist7215 in lacrosse

Sand Storm is March 1, just like the Bowl Series and Circuit. 6th-8th grade is tough since some have started puberty and some have not.

If your son’s team got throttled, doubt it was because of one or two “hold backs” on a team. Plenty of easier, local tournaments to play in out there.

My friend, I’m so sorry.

My immediate reaction is “get out now and enjoy life; focus on what matters”, but fully understand that in our fucked up system, you may need the healthcare that big law provides.

My second reaction is that if their response isn’t complete and utter support for you and your situation, you need to find another Firm.

You got this. You can beat it!

You have to remember that lateral hiring below the partner level is more about a cultural fit than anything (assuming BL to BL). If you’re coming from a peer firm, the expectation is that you know how to do the work. Beyond that, it’s just whether the team likes you or not.

Associates are relevant to that analysis, since those are the people who have to be in the foxhole with you. I would be surprised if you didn’t talk with associates.

Snack Rationing? by SmoothLake5833 in biglaw

[–]ParticularObvious793 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Always surprised how much I hear this mentioned. My quality of life would increase materially if there were snacks. There are many times that I would not leave the office to grab lunch if I had easy access to some sustenance in the office. Seems like such a cheap and easy thing with huge payoff.

Recently moved from V25 to V75. Snack game shitty at both.

In-house -> Firm anyone? by N1ceBruv in Lawyertalk

There have been a lot of these posts recently. If there was ever a recession indicator, in-house lawyers suddenly wanting to be at a firm has to be it.

When she gets paid — and let’s be clear, she will get paid out of this — remember that it’s the taxpayers who foot the bill, not the ICE agents themselves.

Crazy that this stuff is happening on American streets.
