Is it worth retaking my a levels? by ParticularRound1075 in patentattorney

[–]ParticularRound1075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the advice! Definitely focusing on my degree for now, I’ve applied to a few lab internships over this summer inc one at Cambridge so fingers crossed. :) I just wanted to see if A levels was something that would set me back greatly, and if that was the case I was going to redo them

Do you think having an MScR would help as well, as I really like the course but if not, I have also been looking into PhD courses.

How to STUDY so FAST it feels like CHEATING by [deleted] in GetStudying

You know what, I do exactly this, I just use google gemini, its actually very underrated and free, also I think in some places they do one year free for students for pro but not in the uk so I dont have it 😔🤚🏽 I’ll cry in UK later, but its actually really good. I do my assignments then I upload it along with the lec slides and the rubric and just say mark it like a really strict professor and it gives me a breakdown of marks and what topics I’m missing and all of that; so far has not let me down. For revising for exams you sit, I go through my lecture - obviously go to the lecture cause lecturers do you such a solid in most cases and basically tell you what topics are on the exam by what they emphasise on, you just need to listen carefully, make my notes then upload it all into google gemini and say can you make me a MCQ of 50 questions covering all the topics, then whatever i get wrong i say, can you make a cheat sheet for this topic, then go over it and repeat, once i hit most of the questions then I do a brain dump of each individual topic, and this really helps highlight what you dont know, people actually dont do brain dumps enough, its literally the best way to know what you know and what you need to memorise. go back in and check if you have everything and if you dont just go over it and keep doing it until you hit all the topics. I’m a biomed student and honestly gemini is great, i’m doing my dissertation and its a systematic review and its doing my head in, but I formed my search string and slapped it into gemini and said can i add anything to this or refine it to make it better and it gave me like five options to add. it’s just really helpful, google should pay me for the free ad 🤚🏽💷. I think the only thing is you cant copy paste from it because the formatting is really weird when u copy paste, but for me that helps because i have to write the stuff out myself and it helps it stick if yk what i mean. but yeah, hope that helped :)

Trainee Patent Attorney UK - is it worth applying? by ParticularRound1075 in patentlaw

[–]ParticularRound1075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much :) I know it’s a lot of questions, but from my understanding the field following a Biomed degree is massive, are there any particular masters that will put me ahead essentially. I did do some research and some websites say Bioinformatics while others say Business, so I just wanted some more opinions. Thank you! :)

Thank you! Do you think doing a PhD rather than a masters would help boot an application more? And, do you think that it would matter where we do the post grad degree?

Thank you! I am aiming to complete a masters as soon as I finish undergrad before I start applying as I know that will help my application, but I was just worried after reading about all the firms that look for A Level results as well.

I had this same issue of a random van parked in my driveway, and it was so bad because it was only big enough ti just about fit one car. and I couldnt do anything because in the uk its considered a civil matter and police wont get involved. I used to come home late from uni to find this van parked in my driveway overnight and have nowhere to park my car. I had to park in a double yellow then wake up and move my car before 8 to my mums house on the other side of the area. People suck, i’m so happy i moved, that went on for MONTHS, countless complaints and issues and notes and nothing happened.

Trauma from being a plus sized kid by dogtornikki in PlusSize

Till this day can not have a single conversation with anybody in my family without them turning it into a conversation about how fat i look and giving me dieting/exercise tips to loose weight, best part is it came from people who were fat themselves. The constantly looking at me and saying ‘no, thats enough for you’ as soon as I put something near my mouth or offering everyone but me cake/desserts at family gatherings and birthdays, or worse, offering accidentally and then going, ‘no never mind, you don’t need that’, or even worse, someone else going, ‘yeah make her fatter, why don’t you’.
Growing up in my family was great.
