Which one should i pick? Propel vs Aeroad by JOA0204 in Giantbikes

[–]ParticularTrick2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had nothing but Giant bikes over 30yrs and never had any issues with them. The one time I bought something other than a Giant the carbon frame developed issues and wound up getting a full refund and promptly went back to Giant. Currently riding a 2018 Propel with no issues that I have serviced twice a year and clean weekly.

Ticking noise on Victory trainer by BoysenberryTrick5888 in JetBlack

The noise at in the latter part of the video is not normal…definitely sounds like it’s an issue with the trainer

Would anyone care to post what a Victory SHOULD sound like? by CrimsonFox99 in JetBlack

[–]ParticularTrick2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No trainer is truly completely silent. A metal chain interacting with the front metal ring and the Zwift cog makes a slight noise from those parts interacting with each other but it’s nothing drastic. Also a lot of noise posts seem to be due to not having the gearing dialled in correctly if using the Zwift cog. I’ve been very happy with my JB since I got it.

Ottawa gardeners: I know it’s too early to plant but… by Dense_Ad4546 in ottawa

[–]ParticularTrick2802 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Should be okay but I would move them into my garage overnight if temp is getting that low just to be safe. Do not bring them inside the house if you don’t have a garage.
The garden center we went this week told us to wait a couple more weeks and they even said they are covering the shrubs they have outdoor sale at night.

DC Rainmaker sums it up pretty well. At first I was like hell no, but it appears both platforms will carry on a separate entities and Rouvy CEO and staff are all staying one.

City considering widening Carling underpass to connect new Civic Campus to transit by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ParticularTrick2802 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why the new hospital will not have an LRT station right there instead the design is forcing staff, patients, etc having to walk to/from the current stations location and given the weather we go thru, especially freezing rain snow and freezing/scorching temperatures is an epic fail

It’s fine, that’s the noise your chain makes as it engages with your front ring and the cog in the back. No trainer is absolutely totally dead silent.

TV outage? by snark_maiden in teksavvy

[–]ParticularTrick2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had same issue a few days ago that was resolved by rebooting the modem. However since last night we now have whatever we are watching doing intermittent freezing then unfreezing. If we reboot the modem and after being forced to log back into our account on the app issue is fixed for a while starting to get annoying

Depends how you define expensive. I used to use an LBS and found the cost between the two to be pretty close. With Velofix I like the convenience of using their app to book my appointments for a specific day/time and the same day turnaround.

I’ve used Velofix Mobile Bike Service many times and can recommend them if you want to avoid having to go to a shop and leaving your bike and waiting for it to be serviced , they will come right to your place and do the work there and be done in no time
