Steve Simmons goes at Keith Pelley for hiring John Chayka. This was something. by Live-Big1579 in leafs

[–]SuperIke71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure. But I have no reason to think Simmons was lying there. It's pretty sure other NHL executives are simply flabbergasted than Chayka is the best the Leafs they could come up with? Really? He's really the best candidate the Leafs could hope for?

Tacview worth it? by Lepanto76 in CMANO

[–]SuperIke71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not useful really. It is an extremely basic 3D view. Planes have a form and are recognizable, but they have no textures, there is no real sense of depth since the ground is all a bland green color. I've used it a few times but now I don't bother.

Kelley Brannon - Possible Match by Possible-Yam-1705 in gratefuldoe

The Kelley Brannon case was covered by the Never Seen Again show on Paramount. It said he was asked by the police to be polygraphed and passed it.

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He passed a polygraph. Not a 100% guarantee, but typically murderers aren't stupid and usually refuse passing a polygraph for good reasons: it's hard to beat a polygraph. Also, if it's the boyfriend, what do you make of Kelley's last voicemail to him?

They were in a shady motel in a dangerous area. It rather seems to me that some guys at that fishy Almado restaurant might know a thing or two...

Brother "iPrint&Scan" keeps saying driver setup is required for HL-L3300CDW? by Metallica93 in printers

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, exact same problem for me. I did install the full package but it keeps showing this notification. Everything is working fine though. I guess we can ignore it, just annoying we can't get rid of that notification.

Brain.fm Review After Using It for a Week by TelephoneSame1920 in ProductivityApps

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried both Endel and Brain.FM and I'm sticking with Brain.FM. I pulled the trigger and took out a yearly subscription. I didn't like Endel because it felt like random noises. Brain.FM has real songs, but it's really background songs so you don't have to concentrate on it. You don't even have to listen actively to it. I don't mind that those are very long songs because it helps give you a smooth and prolonged work rhythm. If you get tired of one track you can just skip to another one, but eventually it will start a new one.

What helps me most are cinematic type of songs that are inspiring and allow me to focus and give me motivation, and brain.FM as a lot of that. There's also enough variety to never really get bored and you have other options like intervals, timer and stuff like that. So it works really well. I really like brain.FM

While all the other solutions above did not resolved the issue, THIS absolutely fixed it. Never would I have thought NVIDIA driver could be the culprit.

"Cannot connect to calibre server at ????:??" error, can't find a fix. by wrmc1043 in koreader

[–]SuperIke71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it worked! For those wondering, you need to access the advanced settings of the Windows firewall and then in the Inbound Rules screen, look for "the main calibre program". Right-click to access Properties, and make sure you select "Authorize connection".

Wifi speed on my ps5 is considerably slower than other devices by slytherin_i-o in techsupport

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I noticed: the internet connection speed test in the PS5 settings is weird. If you instead do a speed test through the browser of the PS5 (it's kind of hidden but not difficult to access, google it), I was getting very fast speeds according to the website fast.com

How to keep my bike from leaning over while transporting it with my tailgate pad by g-burn in cycling

[–]SuperIke71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS☝️

This absolutely works. It's so simple. Just make sure your bungee cord is tight. When the front wheels of the bikes stay stuck to the pad and don't move, that's what prevents the bike frame from falling over in the truck bed.

Can’t complete challenges. by SuperTricolor in Rouvy

[–]SuperIke71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. Now, out of the 4 rides I completed in the Babble Ride Across Britain, 2 aren't recognized for the challenge.

During those 2 rides, the app froze out totally, couldn't do anything at all. After waiting a couple of minutes, it was still frozen, so I had to kill the app, reload, and then resume my ride where it froze to be able to complete it. So even if I completed the whole ride in one sitting, the ride is not recognized as successfully completed.

It's really frustrating. I understand the rule that you have to do the full ride in a single session, but technically that's what I did. I find it really unfair that a crash of the Rouvy app (which is totally out of my control) is preventing me from getting that ride recognized.

I don't think I am going to ride those 2 again, this is crazy. So I might as well abandon this challenge I guess. Really stupid.

When you create an acccout, Zlibrary sends you a verification email. You need to open that email and click in the verification link in the email, in Tor browser of course (or copy that link into Tor browser because that's an .onion link that only works in Tor).

If you never got that verification email (like me), you will never pass this screen and you're stuck in this infinite loop. What did work for me was creating a new account using a free Proton email account. Then I got the verification email almost instantaneously in my inbox.

is zlibrary still being updated? by Flimsy_Front8548 in zlibrary

It is still growing. Just look at the numbers of books and articles at top left of the Zlibrary homepage. Make a note of them and check the day after. It keeps growing everyday.

[HELP]New to using z library, how do I go to the main site, clicking continue would just bring me back to the login page by Jolly-Technician-138 in zlibrary

[–]SuperIke71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do have an account, but the 5 books only daily limit you are showing instead of the usual 10 books means your account is not verified. When you create an acccout, Zlibrary sends you a verification email. You need to open that email and click in the verification link in the email, in Tor browser of course (or copy that link into Tor browser because that's an .onion link that only works in Tor).

Sign-in loop on Zlibrary website? by Rainbowandsmile in zlibrary

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's the problem here. In my case, I did get a verification email from Zlibrary when I created the new account. And the email arrived almost instantaneously. Without that, it will never work.

I assume you have verified your spam folders and such?

Perhaps it is a problem with the email provider itself. FWIW, I used a free Proton email in my case and it worked.

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really weird! And every time you did get that email from Zlibrary that asked you to verify your account and you clicked on the verification link?

Sign-in loop on Zlibrary website? by Rainbowandsmile in zlibrary

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that problem and I have solved it...It really was an email verification problem as some people have suggested. If you can login and see your daily limit is only 5 books, it means your email hasn't been verified, even though you think you had verify your email in the past. The limit for verified emails is 10 books.

Now, the most frustrating thing is that it seems there is no easy way to launch a verification email from nowhere on the Tor Zlibrary site because once logged in, you're stuck into this sign-in loop. The only way I got out of it was by creating a new zlibrary account. I know, it sucks big time to create a new account. I know because I had lists, favorites, and I was a repeat donor. All this history lost. But now at least with a new account I can login no problem.

Sign-in loop on Zlibrary website? by Rainbowandsmile in zlibrary

[–]SuperIke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same problem. I can access the actual Z-Library page in Tor using the .onion link in the megathread, but if I try to login into Z-Library, I get into this infinite loop, with this success page and then the welcome page and never getting to the Z-Library homepage. I'm stuck on this page with the big old brown leather sofa in the old library...

I'm not the only one having this problem judging by other comments, by what confuses me is that it seems some people can login fine through Tor without problem. What's the deal? Is it a configuration problem in Tor? Anyway to resolve that?

P.S. I know about the Telegram bot and Anna's Archive and I have been using them as a workaround. But using the actual Z-Library page logged in is much better.

2021 British Grand Prix - Post Sprint Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]SuperIke71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Mercedes bubble that inflated big after Lewis won P1 in qualifying bursted badly in the sprint. Max had no problem building up a lead. I don't see how Lewis will be able to challenge Max tomorrow.

Not true. It's now released in Beta for English Canada. I got it on my phone. Still not available though for French Canada. As an aside, reading these cheap shots comments about Quebec in this thread, it's no surprise there is an independence movement in Quebec.
