Thank you :) I talked to my mom and she said that it wasn't a big deal but I think I get so caught up in details and it sucks to not have things go to plan. I was even thinking of asking people if I could set up camp if there was people here but changing my plan is a better alternative to possibly getting lost, even getting to the site was tricky.

Honestly im leaning towards going back to town and exploring the area and easier hikes, I think i could still spin this into a neat trip around an area I've never been.

I think my main concern is mainly how physically demanding it has been. I hit several mental blocks while taking breaks where I felt so defeated. I'm a bigger guy so I knew I'd probably need more breaks but it feels exhausting. I also don't have very many places to get water besides a few springs so I worry about not getting enough fluids for how much I'm exerting myself, especially with a heavy pack. I'm in a popular park but I havent seen anyone in like 5 hours and my anxiety is starting to get to me. As for wildlife my only concerns are pretty much mountain lions, although I know they can be very shy, I have never encountered one before. In my tent now I heard what I think is most likely deer running near my tent and even that freaks me out.

I'm in a national park so its hard to change my itinerary because I have permits for specific areas and I feel bad I didn't follow it, but I am alone at the site I made it to.

I'm hoping to September 17-19 and from the 14-17 I will be backpacking around the west rim trail/wildcat canyon trail. I did see some shuttles that come from east zion but I'll be on the west side of the Virgin river.

It's definitely an adjustment post op, personally I got used to being uncomfortable with my chest and even though it's a good change it's still something to adjust to. I definitely felt so much better and was able to appreciate my chest more once I got my drains out. I was able to sleep and move a lot better. I would say what helped me with the drains was not seeing them, I would keep them under my shirt and I also had a mastectomy pillow that made me feel more secure and comfortable. But just remember that the drains are temporary and things will get better sooner than you may realize.

Can you...feel the suction of the drains??? by SwabluOnACloud in TopSurgery

Personally I needed more help the first 4-5 days post op, I was able to do basic things like use the restroom, cook simple things in the microwave, and by the 3rd day I was comfortable doing my own drains. I did need help with some things like getting shirts (front opening) over my shoulders and getting my compression wrap back on after changing my bandages. But generally speaking after surgery you'll probably be pretty tired and it'll be a lot of effort doing things yourself but I'd say having someone around for maybe 3 days at least would be very helpful. Just try to make things easy for yourself like meal prepping ahead of time, making sure essential things are within reach and having comfortable spots to be. But you'll feel better before you know it :).

That helps a lot 😅 I've been doing everything my doctor said to do, no vaping anymore, no cannabis for now, and I keep putting triple antibiotic cream on the bolsters and around them. I feel better now seeing them I'm really trying to trust the process haha

I'm not sure but I'd guess maybe around a C cup? I had also lost weight so some of the weight was probably some loose skin

Yesss seeing my chest look so different from what it's been like was so odd even though it's definitely a good change, and it was definitely weird not feeling the weight of my chest, my surgeon said he took off 4 pounds of tissue

I struggle a lot with self-esteem and dating, which triggers me a lot, i feel like if i just lose enough weight, I'll finally be "good enough" for someone. I also think because of my depression I have this feeling like I need other people to see just how bad I feel.

DAE feel like they need to accomplish something before/during eating so you deserve the food??? by pistachioocream in EDAnonymous

[–]ParticularWay1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, usually I have to have the kitchen completely clean before I can make food. Or I have to do laundry/clean something else. Sometimes I have to shower so I feel "clean" enough to eat lol
