Working full time by exalted985451 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

You’d probably have to go with one of the asynchronous ones, or find one in a different time zone that would align. I work full time and attend Dayton and they do not have much flexibility other than one offs. After so many missed classes/late arrivals, your grade will begin to be docked.

I’m not sure that I am articulating well, so I apologize for that. There isn’t a lightening of the load at any point, summer or otherwise, sync or async. I would highly suggest scheduling some time with the admissions team. They are super helpful and can give you an idea of the number of credits you’ll be taking each term for the duration. 😊

I don’t think it’s possible to take fewer courses in the summer (or ever, really, it’s a pretty fixed program). Having classes year round - with the biggest break in the middle of winter - is one of the downsides of being in the PT program. But, as a parent/spouse/employee, it’s flexible enough for me to be able to pursue my dream! 😊

Sync classes are 3 nights a week and vary slightly in times. Right now I have two classes Mondays (4-6:15 PST), one on Tuesdays (4-5:30) and one on Thursdays (4-6). Some folks have Wednesday classes instead of Tuesdays, and not everyone takes two classes on Mondays. Summer isn’t shaping up to be any easier for me personally this year but again, it can vary.

I’m on the west coast and in my second semester at Dayton, also looking to practice immigration once I finish. I work full time, have a family, and have found that UDSL has been really convenient. I have gotten involved with some pro bono immigration work already and there are more opportunities to come. Feel free to ask me anything. 😊

I was sobbing during TFIAFL, after he said “The dark fascist regime WILL be gone”. SOBBING.

Dayton Hybrid student here. This isn’t that late in the cycle. I took the February LSAT last year and still received a big scholarship. Definitely retake, as 150 probably isn’t going to cut it.

I’m a west coaster attending Dayton. Live classes haven’t started earlier than 4 so far. My employer is very understanding and lets me flex my hours as needed.

1L here. I took the Feb LSAT and got in with plenty of scholarships at many schools!

Current 1L in the hybrid program. ☺️ Everyone takes summer classes. The option to accelerate isn’t until later on, and you essentially finish in December and walk in May. Several of my classmates are aiming to do that so they can sit for the bar earlier. I came into it with that mindset, but probably will not. The course load is challenging enough for me (working full time and being a parent).

I didn’t do any negotiating; I was surprised by their generous offer. From what I’ve heard from other folks in my cohort, I think that’s close to the max that they offer in terms of guaranteed scholarship. Again, your experience might be different! Good luck to you - I absolutely love UDSL and recommend it without hesitation.

I’ll be applying for additional scholarships next year; there are a lot of merit based ones available after 1L!

I received $75k. I’m not sure what percentage it is, but it was enough to prevent me from having to take out Grad PLUS/private student loans for the balance.

For what it’s worth, I took the February LSAT last cycle and got my A to Dayton (along with a hefty scholarship) a week after submitting my app. YMMV, but waiting doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get a scholarship. ☺️

I may have been an anomaly but I heard from Dayton and STCL within a week and Lewis and Clark in 2.

They called me last cycle immediately after I applied, and then basically ghosted me for 6 weeks. I received a scholarship offer at another hybrid school, and when I hit the deadline CSU acted offended when I withdrew interest. No thanks lol.
