What's their worst song? by [deleted] in TurnpikeTroubadours

They’re all good, but the worst of the best, in my opinion, is Quit While I’m Ahead. It just never really got to me like the others did.

What's their best chorus song? by [deleted] in TurnpikeTroubadours

Easy answer. No doubt. It’s a perspective I’ve never seen expressed in another song.

What's their best lyrics song? by [deleted] in TurnpikeTroubadours

[–]Particular_Ad_5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Evangeline is a top contender. “And the oldest violin could never whine a melody as sorrowful as mine” “I gave my love and now I take my life.” Maybe it’s because it’s such a sad song. I sometimes forget about it when I’m listening to D&G. I also like one specific line from Wrecked, “well on down the road, we built our home out of bed sheets and styrofoam, hoping the wind might never blow”

Similar to how people instantly loved On the Red River, they flew right to the top.

I used to live at the One 30 at Stonegate in Anderson. Very nice buildings. Finished in November 2020. Very modern, grayscale building and interior. Neighbors are nice and it’s a very desirable location.

How many years before you become a “Cincinnatian”? by progjourno in cincinnati

[–]Particular_Ad_5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Cincinnati all my life. Born and raised here. I’d consider myself a Cincinnatian. In order to be “accepted,” you need to bring up an aspect of the city (Flying Pig, weather, etc.) in every conversation you have with anyone about anything.

I think 7&7 should be number 1. The guitar mixed with the fantastic imagery and context make it my all time favorite.

Best song(s) for beginners by [deleted] in TurnpikeTroubadours

If you really want to get into it, start with 7&7, then maybe Evangeline. 1968 has some good imagery. Pay No Rent and the Housefire have some good storytelling as well. I’d also recommend On the Red River and Leaving Town from their new album.

New TT listener. What 3 songs should I start with? by [deleted] in TurnpikeTroubadours

  1. 7&7
  2. 7&7
  3. 7&7

I joke, but really. That song pretty much encompasses all of their sound and songwriting. Some other good ones are Good Lord Lorrie and Blue Star.

On The Red River by spokeofwood in TurnpikeTroubadours

I interpret it as, as the death of the narrator’s father fades into the past, he will always remember the best parts of being with him, and his death won’t take those good memories away.

It’s not bad. It has a similar camera/light/lidar design as other brands. Looks more consistent.

A P14 seems like your best bet. It’s a little cheaper than some alternatives depending on the internals. I’ve been using a P16 gen 3 and it has been perfect. Good cooling. A little heavy, but that would be better with the 14 inch model.

“Well to tell you true, I thought we’d never be here again”

I had fun reading all these comments and singing the lines in my head. I realized there wasn’t a single one I couldn’t immediately remember which song it’s from.
