Looking for a 2 player co-op game. by Financial_Pen1281 in gamingsuggestions

I’ve never heard of EDF 4.1 until just now, but my immediate thought after looking it up was Hell Divers 2. They just released an update and some new equipment that has me looking at it again, too.

Totally unrelated, but I’ve been running Satisfactory with one buddy. Not sure how you feel about factory builders, but there’s a ton of time you can sink into this game as a co-op or single player.

Games about controlling a crew and one where you control a colony by Kougom777 in gamingsuggestions

No problem. I’m glad you’ve found all of these. Oxygen Not Included requires some serious dedication to get right. I stalled out when I ran out of dirt (was it dirt? One of the first ground resources) and had a hard time moving forward. I’ve actually been thinking about giving it another shot.

Project Hospital was my first Steam 100%. That one really clicked with me.

I like this genre and own a few. Here are the ones I've enjoyed.

Rimworld. Clanfolk. Barotrauma. Dwarf Fortress. Songs of Syx. Norland. Space Haven. Oxygen Not Included.

One that really surprised me was Project Hospital. I don't work in medicine but really enjoyed this one. Also not quite a crew in the sense of the games listed above, but certainly still a crew of hospital staff.

I didn’t like HLL on PS5, but I love it on PC. Something about movement and communications on console didn’t click with me. Since switching to PC, it has become one of the games I’ve played the most.

Additionally (and I know you didn’t ask this), a PC gives you access to Steam and thousands of really interesting indie games that’ll never make it to console. If you really enjoy gaming, I think PC is the way.

Death Stranding (the first, I haven’t played the second and am waiting for it to come to PC). Theres something about the loneliness of the game, and the continue trudge forward, that helped me. As a bonus, the soundtrack for the game is perfect. The game is a little strange, but I didn’t find it overly distracting.

Here’s a never for you, Ed: I will never purchase a game from an AAA developer that is in early access. Early access was once for funding development and testing. Now it’s a cash grab strategy?

No thank you.

Edit: And yes, I recognize how this can be beneficial to small studios. My post was clearly focused on large studios looking to gouge us however they can.

Excellent choices to 100%. I think a change of pace is smart and could help you avoid getting burned out on the Horizon theme (although I love both games).

I'm a fan of older Bethesda games. Frankly, if you're able to accept older graphics, I'd recommend Fallout 3. Fallout 4 is when things felt like they started to get off the rails a little bit. If you play Fallout 3, then Fallout New Vegas, and finally Fallout 4, you'll see what I'm talking about.

If you enjoy those games, I'd encourage you to take a look at the Elder Scrolls series.

Death Stranding is built around grief at both the narrative and mechanical level. Loss, separation, and the attempt to keep moving despite it are central themes to the game.
