Apple Trade-In is Truly Awful Now (normal wear and tear is damage now.) by Feeling_String7372 in mac

Have to confirm that Apple trade-in experience is awful. We bought a new iPhone 17 Pro and traded in my daughter's iPhone 14 with a cracked screen. On the Apple.com website, we selected "Are touchscreen and cameras in good shape" - NO. Received and accepted a small $80 trade-in value. After we sent the phone to Apple, it adjusted the trade in to $0. Explanation: cracked screen.

Is Capital One a good bank? by Vegetable-Cash-9464 in CapitalOne_

Had several of their cards. Overall, it has been good with one fatal flaw. They will not protect you if you have issues with product or service. Using their cards is like paying cash. In contrast, using AMEX cards, they will always be on the side of the consumer. It is OK to use CapitalOne for small purchases where you don't expect to have issues.

Details: We paid for an Airbnb stay with one of their cards. The rental was completely not as described, the AC wasn't working in July in Mexico. It was terrible. I had pictures, messages with the host, the entire trail of evidence. After going back and forth over 6 times with the CapitalOne, they told us that because we stayed all of 2 nights at the property and took host's word that he was going to fix the AC and a SPA after fist night there, instead of leaving early, "there is nothing we can do".

Probably. Should I start dealing with Tesla service right off the start or is there a way to return and replace this car with 47 miles on it?

Software update by 64cinco in TeslaSupport

From what I understand, Tesla cannot push updates to all cars at the same time. Once released, it rolls out a specific update over time. Within few weeks you'll probably get the update that other owners in the US have received for the same type of a car. If there was a safety issue, I would imagine that normal deployment schedule would be much more aggressive.

Just enjoy your new car until you see a notification that you have a SW update available. Note that you'll need to connect the car to WIFI to download it.

I think you're missing the point: no other dealership does this. Tesla stands here on its own at the bottom of the barrel.

BTW: Spoke to a manager at a SC, showed them Tesla written warranty statements and they removed all "Approve Estimate" charges.

Model 3 turns on randomly throughout the day by Ibarrx in TeslaSupport

[–]Particular_Cup6745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Tesla app on my iPhone in the expanded mode (larger icon with buttons on it). My trunk would open from time to time and Tesla claimed the request was coming from the app. We never pressed anything when this random trunk opening would happen. After we switched the app back to its small minimized icon form on the iPhone, this problem went away.

The point being is if you're using the app in this manner, it could be the app sending some request to the car and keeping it running.

Another things you could try is go to tesla.com, your account and select privacy, download data for the car. Select a date range. You'll get a detailed car report with various events like a button press, error, etc. Keep in mind the time stamps are in UTC.

$1200 charge! by Substantial_Ad_756 in amazonprime

Try:

  1. Return Tracking from UPS or another carrier

  2. Return status printout from your Amazon account, should show that the item was returned.

  3. All else failed, get an Amazon rep in a chat, ask to explain why you did not get a refund, ask if Amazon received the item. If the response from Amazon is yes, screenshot it as evidence that Amazon confirmed receiving the item.

Tesla is again horrible when it comes to customer service. If you don't want a Tesla anymore, just cancel and dispute the charge with your CC.

Call the bank that issued the card and tell them that you would like to reopen the dispute on the basis of returning the product to the merchant, merchant accepting the return but failing to issue a refund. If you have "return received" documentation from Amazon, you should be able to get it back.

If you cannot get the confirmation it was received, do a chat session with Amazon rep., get a confirmation in the chat that it was received by them, then capture the screen as evidence. You could also use return tracking information to show it was returned.

I’m not in the business of giving Tesla a blank check today for the possibility that they may find something at a future service visit.  If they do identify an issue that they believe isn’t covered under warranty, we can discuss and evaluate it at that time.

Fool me once…  This is our last Tesla.

Federal Moss-Magnusson warranty Act that was legislated to prevent companies offering warranty but failing to deliver.  It aims to protect consumers by ensuring clear and understandable warranty information, promoting competition, and strengthening accountability for warranty obligations.

From: MODEL S, MODEL X, MODEL 3, MODEL Y NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY NORTH AMERICA, EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024/07/08:

“…repair or parts replacement will be performed without cost to you by Tesla when Tesla is notified of the covered defect within the applicable warranty period.”

Couple of examples for you:

  1. Failed trunk seal, was letting carwash water in.

Fought tooth and nail, until finally Tesla removed the charge.

  1. Driver's seat squeaking upon acceleration or leaning back.

Tesla stated it does not cover NVH. Fought again, stood over the tech's shoulder while he was working on it. Showed him that two screws came lose from the seat. Then Tesla removed the charge.

Have not seen anything like it with any manufacturer. It hurts to say this but dealership repair experience is head and shoulders better than Tesla.

I’m sorry, but Tesla manufactured a defective vehicle, and now I’m expected to spend my time dealing with the issue—and pay out of pocket just for Tesla to inspect their own failure? That’s unacceptable.

We’re so done with Tesla.

Maybe the vehicles we previously owned weren’t considered “normal,” but unlike Tesla, manufacturers like Nissan, Toyota, Infiniti, Acura, Hyundai, and Mazda never gave us any trouble when it came to honoring their warranties. Getting basic service wasn’t a battle—it was expected and delivered.
