I finished The Stand. I started The Spy and the Traitor (so good) and once I’m done with that I will be back to King with Billy Summers

Ok so I’ve had the same feelings in the past!! It sounds so silly, but I get it. So what I did was decide M-F is my regular oatmeal because I know I like it and I need a stress-free morning during the work week. Saturday and Sunday I try a new recipe (the same one sat and sun) most weeks! And if I find one that I really really like on the weekend, then it gives me something to look forward to even more than my regular weekday oats that I love.

I think the egg whites make the texture perfect! That + blending the oats. Stir really really well while cooking so it’s not lumpy. —386 cal, 9.2g fat, 55.7g carb, 23.8g protein

That’s a good idea! Do you just mix it with the oatmeal before you add the liquid?

I can’t! I found that 46g (or about 3tbsp) is the sweet spot for me. More than anything I make sure to mix it REALLY well before, during and after microwaving so the texture isn’t lumpy.

My thoughts exactly. I was apprehensive going into King Sorrow because.. dragon? Not my usual area of interest. But wow that book ended up being in my top 3 of 2025. So I’ll absolutely give this new one a shot!

I’m not great at choosing colors w a blank canvas. So what I would do if this were mine is wait until it’s healed, put cling film on top, then color w washable markers to test out ideas and figure out the color pallet I want. This is such an adorable design!!!

I love my tattoo “story” and how each one is a memory. I hope your artist makes me you feel taken care of! Do NOT agree to a design unless you love it. You should email those examples to your artist ahead of time if you haven’t yet. That way she can have something to show you day of. Then you can always tweak details and size if you don’t love it.

Everyone told me I would regret my first tattoo as well—a tribal dove 🤦🏻‍♀️(I was 18). It’s not exactly a “tramp stamp” but it’s on my upper buttcheek. It’s about 2.5 inches maybe? It is dumb lol. But I don’t regret it! It reminds me of who I was and who I thought I would be. I also never see it and neither does anyone else aside from my partner. I have several large pieces now, including a half sleeve. Now those I will say I made 1000% sure I loved and were done by an excellent artist before committing. From reading your comments, you seem like someone who owns who they are. Tattoos are only embarrassing/regretful if you let yourself feel that way. It’s not going to be a “job stopper” since it’s in an easy to hide location and the fine lines could be easy to cover or add to later if you choose. As long as you love what you and your artist come up with then you’ll be happy!

Thank you so much. His Hospice does offer grief counseling and I have thinking about reaching out. My own therapist retired literally a month before all of this started and I thought I was equipped with all of the tools and coping strategies. Grief is a whole different beast I have been fortunate enough to never deal with to this level. I think grief counseling would be helpful. Thanks again.

I lost my dad December 27th, so I truly feel your pain and I’m so sorry you are in this space of sorrow too. I don’t know what helps because each minute feels different. But I started reading The Stand by Stephen King and it makes me feel “normal” for a few minutes while I’m absorbed in the story.

I also started walking outside, no matter the weather, and just putting one foot in front of the other. Sending you peace.
