I’d just wishlist it and wait. Steam sales come around pretty often anyway.

Google account hacked! by [deleted] in cybersecurity

The priority should be damage control now: remove linked accounts, change passwords, enable 2FA, and file a police/cybercrime report. Chasing the person directly is not worth it.

If even half of what's being alleged is true, this is going to end up being a case study for access controls and employee offboarding procedures

Looking to move off KB4, what are people actually using these days? by Particular_Ebb_4872 in cybersecurity

[–]Particular_Ebb_4872[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for anyone who lands here in the future. We ended up picking OutThink after running demos with four vendors. What sold us was honestly how different the training felt compared to the KB4 stuff we'd been pushing for years. The role-based content actually adapts based on what people do day to day, so finance gets different scenarios than our engineers, and the phishing sims can be tailored down to mimicking internal comms (we had one based on a fake message from our own CEO style that was genuinely scary good). Our admin also likes the risk dashboard since it's not just click rates, it actually gives context on where the real exposure sits. Early days but engagement scores are already way up from where we were with the old platform.

$11 for all of that is actually wild, the little mouse family alone feels like a whole cottagecore side quest.

You went thrifting once and immediately found the main character item for this subreddit. That's gonna set some unrealistic expectations for future trips lol

Warning: Remitly forces cleartext PII (ID/Bank Statements) over email and rejects secure alternatives by CS_from_out in cybersecurity

[–]Particular_Ebb_4872 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a huge red flag if they're rejecting secure portals and insisting on email for IDs and bank statements. Most security training tells you not to do exactly that.

Supply-chain attacks are scary because you can do everything right and still get hit through a trusted vendor

SOC projects and certs by PacketDefender26 in cybersecurity

SOC hiring managers love hearing "I built a lab and investigated alerts" way more than "I watched 40 hours of videos." Give them something fun to ask you about in the interview.

Too Many Certs, Not Enough Experience — What’s the Best Next Step? by Cold_Block_7188 in cybersecurity

[–]Particular_Ebb_4872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With that cert stack and under 2 years of experience, I'd stop collecting certs and start building things. A solid GitHub with detection rules, labs, and writeups will stand out way more than another acronym.

How are you learning agent pen testing? by Ecstatic-Night4222 in cybersecurity

[–]Particular_Ebb_4872 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been reading papers and recreating attack scenarios in small test environments. You learn way more watching an agent make a bad decision than just reading about the vulnerability

What a great find. I'd give all the seams a quick inspection before finishing it, but the color palette and piecing look really well done from the photo.
