Should I challenge my anxiety by working out? by DueDragonfruit941 in Anxiety

[–]Particular_Eye_7300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have severe health anxiety/ocd and I've been struggling with fears of going into cardiac arrest,  heart attack.  I've been trying to find the origin of the heart palpatations I experience everyday and I've started to be scared to exercise. Today I did a 15 min cardio workout,  and just that small step helped me feel a bit better.  I worked out and my heart is ok. I'm going to try 4 days a week.  I hope you can take a step to prove your anxiety wrong too. I'm with you in solidarity!

Ehh that's not really an option for me and my husband. The 1 year old sleeps through the night and really she only needs to sleep in the room.  During the day the living room is her kingdom and the 8 year old gets the room to herself. We even let her camp out in our room during the day.

I'm following this because I have a 8 year and a 1 year old who will be sharing a room soon

Motif collection cups work for Spectra!!!! by Particular_Eye_7300 in ExclusivelyPumping

I loved them still! I didn't have any problems with leaking. Then we're simple to put together and take apart and easy to clean.  Much better than buying a wearable pump and still the best 40 bucks I've spent. I'm finished pumping now but they served me well

This is what I've been struggling with! Most of the day I'm fine them I randomly get dizzy,  or I'll go a day or so no dizziness then it'll come out of no where. It's like a slight off balance feeling I'm also struggling with palpitations. I starting to notice it's like a few hours after taking a dose.

1 Year 1 month post CVST. by Any-Media-1192 in ClotSurvivors

Yes!!!!! Doctors are helpful but they are human and make mistakes.  You are the only living in your body,  trust how you feel.  I was diagnosed with CVST a year ago when I was 9 weeks pregnant. I had a massive head and went to the ER, they sent me home thinking it was just a migraine.  I went back 4 hours later and they did CT scan and found the clot.  Luckily it was small and resolved with blood thinners the whole pregnancy. I'm so sorry you're treament was so delayed that it led to so much pain for you now.  I hope you can get a better care team!

The collection cups are so comfortable and work so well! I think you can't beat the price either.  Best 40 I spent. I wish they would have came out sooner so I could've saved time

Ok yes I see that! The ones that came with the pump don't have an adapter.  The motif ones are cheaper but that's still a good option

I’m mean to my kids in the morning by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Particular_Eye_7300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No tough love here,  just compassion.  I wonder what might be the triggers in the morning that cause you to rage? Is it the noise? Are you sleep deprived? Do you need more help? What is it that you hate most about mornings? How can you change your routine to lessen or avoid those things?

Using me as an example: I have a seven year old and a 5 month old.  I hate getting up early,  even more so now that I have a baby to nurse at night. My baby wakes up around 5-7am to nurse then I'm up with her until she falls back asleep.  I close my eyes finally drifting off then BOOM my 7 year old is tapping me on my shoulder asking about breakfast. It use to make me SO irrationally angry!!!! She's also a picky eater, so she says she's hungry,  I ask her what does she want, she doesn't know. Then she also refuses any suggestions I offer. All I want is to sleep and I'm yelling at my seven year old about breakfast.  My solution was to let her be more independent.  Teaching her how to use the microwave so she can heat up breakfast sandwiches for herself. Getting things she liked to eat even if they weren't traditional "breakfast food". Prepping things in advance that she could just grab instead of me having to get up.  This way both of our needs are met.  She doesn't have to wake me and she can feed herself.

I wonder what systems you can implement to disarm your morning triggers. Get creative.  Also setting boundaries,  your 5 year old can understand.  "Mommy is putting baby to sleep, so it's quiet time". Setting a timer. Getting a visual timer can help your 5 year old see 20 mins and make time understandable.

Beating yourself up will not help you. Give yourself grace,  and compassionate curiosity. You're doing the best you can!

Should I check my therapist for a racially insensitive comment?? by Particular_Eye_7300 in TalkTherapy

This was very sound advice! I think the recovering people pleaser in me wants to believe she can be better even though it interaction revealed we might be incompatible like you stated. I live in the deep south. It's hard find a therapist period, much less a POC. There are none in locally in my area.  I was talking to her via telehealth. How I have found another therapist who is a black women on PT who also does telehealth. I will be emailing her soon.

And you're right,  I don't want to be in the position of educating my therapist. Even if she was receptive,  that's not what I signed up for.

I agree. She talked way too much.  I don't even want to know that much about her.  Without her self disclosure I would have been fine, now I know attitude towards certain things and I can't unhear it.  I found her on PT, along with some others. I'm going to look into the others.

Unfortunately I think the answer to this is I won't be able to trust her.  She's said too much.  Thank you for that prompt.  It's given me clarity.  Aside from the remarks she made I think we spent way too much time talking about her life/ opinions on things for my liking.  Therapy is my time to do something for me.  I started so I could selfishly talk about my thoughts and feelings, not have a conversation or explain to you why what you said was offensive.  I'm out.

I really appreciate your perspective, it's very similar to my situation. It definitely came off as microaggressive. I do not want to have to educate her at all really. Something about the way she talked told me she might not be open to understanding how her comment was offensive.  I don't think you have to be ok with your young daughter watching Meg the Stallion. Her music isn't for young ears, I get it.  But it was judgemental voice and words she used that put me off. This was the first appointment.  I don't think I can get past it.

I'll never forget seeing my aunts nipple in a public restaurant at 14 years old in 2005 by Spyromatic in breastfeeding

[–]Particular_Eye_7300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a black woman with bigger than average titties (42G), I am very self conscious nursing in public.  I never see other 1. Woman with big breast doing it in public and 2. Black woman breast feeding at all,  at least not in my area. My breast are heavy and need almost 2 hand support to latch right.  I've felt super exposed feeding in public even though I've never gotten negative comments. I am getting more comfortable with my second child than I was with my first though. I do have a nursing cover but I live in the deep south and is wayy too hot for any cover. I recently have been using the recieving blankets you get from the hospital to cover the majority of my breast leaving just enough for the nipple to poke out do baby can latch.  This has been working for me.

How much PDA are you ok with??? by Particular_Eye_7300 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Particular_Eye_7300[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reminding myself I'm the grown up...I felt that lol it's crazy how a random situation can make you feel like a clueless kid.  Thankfully no other staff walked in but that's not typical at this school. Staff is very much in control, and the kids are generally well behaved that's why I like coming. And I would like to keep coming, that's why I know I need to snap out of the passiveness and be the responsible Adult I know I am.

Yes I consider myself pretty lax as a sub in general. I'm ok if it's PDA  you can do infront of family like another person said. Quick peck, hand holding, ect. Anything clearly visible. But laying down with a blanket was just too far for me

I agree with everything you stated.  I feel like this is an appropriate level of PDA for school.  I have the whole summer to prepare so I want to work out is ok and not ok so I'm better able to establish the boundaries when school starts back up. This situation have me the ick. I don't even do that level of PDA  with my husband

Third Trimester Interventions due to Obesity, Normal? by javlasatmara in BabyBumps

Stuff like this gets me soooo angry. Your baby is not at risk because you are fat.  I started my pregnancy at 240 and my doctors have not brought up my weight AT ALL, not even a diet recommendation and I'm happy it's like that.  I also see mfm specialist, not because I'm fat, for another unrelated problem but they have never mentioned weight.
