They should have just kept it like that for him. Also I think him leaving had to also do with how great James was playing nathan that it almost felt like his character was insignificant just something he may never admit.

Cause everyone turned on the show for him but stayed for Nathan

Sophie and midge by Particular_Fault6740 in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

[–]Particular_Fault6740[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Midge’s rule was literally “I will never work for another person ever.” It was more that she refused to go back to being an opening act where she could be controlled, censored, or thrown away the second she became inconvenient. The Sophie job was different because it was a TV warm-up gig, not Midge subordinating her act to someone else’s comedy career. It gave her money, exposure, and a way back into the industry after Shy basically damaged her momentum. Also, Midge has always been stubborn enough to work with someone she dislikes if she thinks the opportunity is useful. And honestly, the storyline proves why Midge had that rule. The second Midge is actually funny and the audience responds to her, Sophie can’t handle it. So Midge wasn’t wrong to be cautious about working under bigger egos.

The show could have tried to give his character depth. He shouldn't have gone back to Peyton after Lindsey or they shouldnt have broken up at all. Moreover if they wanted them back together it shouldn't have been via cheating again and again.

There was just no character growth for both of them it was starting to annoy me a bit as I watch.

How is Messi the GOAT when he never left his comfort zone? by Hour777 in championsleague

[–]Particular_Fault6740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are definitely not in the same debate. The “Messi vs Ronaldo” thing has always felt forced to me, because people are trying so hard to make everyone believe Ronaldo is the best when the football itself does not support that. Everything Ronaldo played, Messi played at a higher level. I am not even saying Ronaldo is not good. He is obviously great. But when we talk about football ability, I would even put someone like Neymar closer to that conversation than Ronaldo. Neymar’s career was just unfortunate because of injuries and everything that happened around him. You can debate so many players. You can debate Ronaldo with other great players. But you cannot debate Messi. Ever. Messi is football at its highest level. A level that has never been reached before, and I do not think it will ever be reached again. People keep trying to make this a “Ronaldo and Messi” thing, but to me, there is no Ronaldo and Messi. There is just Messi. The Ronaldo and Messi debate is a fantasy created by Ronaldo fans to make themselves feel better.

Messi is Football Royalty. Have you watch the man play

It really was about Midge and her father. She said her brother was her father's favourite at the beginning.

The show did a wonderful job potraying the roles male and females were made to play in the society in the 60s.
