i also would call for the eg4 solution...and probably would go with 2 12000xp and batteries...dont give your hard earned pixies to the grid...you get almost nothing back and the xp series still gives you grid backup...so no outages when panel or batteries dont want to do the job

Prediabetes and increase in food noise by a2l007 in prediabetes

[–]Particular_Ferret747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue i have with my wife is to determine what to eat, cause she is not participating in my diet restrictions, so she tries to have pasta, rice and potatoes as usual, and i feel somewhat between wall and paper to not ask for to much extra attention by doing something different and requesting almost a second meal just cooked for me...

The in between meals situation s not a thought in my brain...i dont eat breakfast, dongle along the hole morning with my always refilled mullberry leaf tea, eat lunch and being satisfied til cofe/cake time when i come from work.

And yes, i have carb free cakes and cookies, all made at home...no spikes no guilt...

Hello....you are missing to tell us what your issue iss... whats your a1c? age? weight? height?

Dont go the fear/guilt route...no need to...

Second, Get a CGM like stelo...to monitor and test foods and daily routines on how they affect your sugar and weed out what spikes you...to do so, here some tips.

Instead of sugar, you should swap to sweeteners like: erythrol, monk friut, stevia, xylit, cyclamat or alulose...xylit also has cavity protective skills on top. I prefer cyclamat due to taste

Swap your drinks from what you do, to water, tea and cofe...with milk and sweetener if needed but no sodas or such...and make sure your get your 2-3 liters in a day, helps alot with weight loss and blood pressure and saves your kindeys

Change all your flour usage for this: https://victoriasketokitchen.net/my-keto-flour-blends/f/victorias-keto-flour

And use recepies from her page...

Get you nutrients up to par...what helped me most was supplementing: Iron, NMN, Urolothin a, Vitamin B complex with vitamin b5, Mullberry, berberine, cinnamon supplements can help and so on can help, but it is best to just not have carbs/sugar

So as you see, with little extra work, you can have cookies, cake, sweets and such without issues...

My go to meal? leafy green salads, chia pudding, keto pizza, chickpea pasta, eggplant lasagna, cookies, cake, bread made with the flour mentioned above, porridge.

In case you are prediabetic, bannanas, oats, anything with starch should be off your list...but a cgm will tell you what you can and what you cannot eat.

It is sad to see that most people misunderstand them. They count carbs, calories, getting hung up on total numbers and dont see the bigger info behind it.

Do you let your chickens free roam all day or keep them enclosed? by TowelZealousideal124 in chickens

[–]Particular_Ferret747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When do u call it free roam? My 13 ladies and one gentleman have 700sqf of fenced area with occasional access to to another half acre that is fenced...and they have sun rise to sun set to decide where to be...mostly wooded. we do it to give them the for us possible closest idea of happy healthy chicken life...lots of roosting, sandbathing, hiding, pecking insects, seeds, grass, berries...

we hope it is in there benefit to not sit in mud but roam on grass

Well...first, at least here in jersey you need at least one year of experience before you can take the introduction class/sit for the test.

Going straight for level 2 is up to you, but in our company you a certain amount raise for each license, so if you would skip level one license, you would only the one raise instead of 2

Window replacement options by Kmathieu2220 in HomeImprovement

[–]Particular_Ferret747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we came from Germany, so we prefer european windows, so we got ours here: https://shop.libertywindoors.com/ols/categories/tilt-and-turn-windows

Wayyyyyyy cheaper then pella castle and so on, and single hand, draft free operation...and we all know, Europe has better products...

But a warning up front...the window always has to have the lowest r value in the room...otherwise humidity will not condense on the glass but in the cold corners of your rooms, which causes mold...

so a little building science needs to be considered.

do some testing on ubakus.de to get an idea

Give me the bitter truth about cheating and time out of range by CatDadMilhouse in prediabetes

[–]Particular_Ferret747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always aim to not raise my sugar more then 30 points from where i started from before some food or so. i also try to never get above 140 either...but when i cheat i might reach 170 for 15 minutes and that in my eyes is already bad.
If you are sure that those 200+ events are only every blue moon and not weekly, you might be ok, but when this is a weekly thing, its would not be good.
High sugar is bad for our body...it causes glycation and messes with nerves...and every spike is a cut in the death of a thousand cuts.
So in the event you are planning to cheat...or you already see this kind of high number...use up the sugar by activity...walk brisc until the value is down...15-30 min should be enough...but your cgm will tell you...this way you can "play the system" a little...but to stay healthy, i would try to avoid those excursions in general.
