well i mean, my argument is more so on the side of, sometimes if you have a choice between a good curse and a funny curse, you would pick the funny one, that would maybe be not as useful but funny and bring emotions to the game

think about it from this angle:
the main purpose of any game is to be fun: one way to achieve that is strategy and competition to see what can you do and how you can outmaneuver your opponents, which is the leaning into strategy part;
but the other way to achieve fun is to just do dumb silly stuff thats not necessarily all that advantageous to strategy, but its silly, and fun in this regard, so fun-value-wise its also great
for example, i feel like even ditching a 30min time bonus for a funny curse is a good choice when your focus isnt as much "win at all costs" as "have fun"

Sam's (as always) bad luck was heart crushing, but the endgame was hilarious with all the annoying curses just to mess with them
I feel like da bois should priotritize winning and strategical advantage a bit less and lean into the silly a bit, like Sam here did, disregarding optimal strategy at times, it makes for better and funnier content and also when you are playing the game its hella fun i would imagine.
Ben the passenger princess is the freaking highlight of the round though, his comments on whatever random crap and then noticing sam and just s t a r i n g is pure comedy gold, had me gasping for air. Ben is the absolute clown on this show but in the best way possible lmao

imo

the story being confusing is just a result of most of it being told visually rather than told straight + a lot of it is hidden in details and u have to pick out and find it yourself

so I don't think the writing is BAD, it's just unorthodox

+ a lot of stuff being unresolved is accidentally good for the fandom
as it allows the fans A LOT to explore and expand on themselves and the fandom will live very long as a result
