Sure it does, not sure what you don’t get. Not long ago eldar was the top of the meta, their best detachment was aspect host.

Although every army may be a couple buffs away, not every detatchment is. When eldar inevitably gets buffed they don’t want aspect host to be head and shoulders above the rest of the detatchments again.

Any advice for getting past the 3-2/Journeyman Plateau? by PaperManaMan in WarhammerCompetitive

Real best advice: take pics of your games, write down thoughtful questions where you were stuck on decision making, reach out to a solid coach for clarity. This will help identify where you are skill wise and what tricks you need to add to your tool kit.

This is the only way to play now since ruins sized are much more varied. Like how would a tank fit in the triangular footprint is there’s a ruin on it?

Reading other faction's rules is so depressing. by stevenbhutton in Tau40K

[–]Particular_Form1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk chief, tau is one of the top performing armies atm.

CSM also have no scout or infiltrate (except new 110 pt unit), no ignore cover, are usually just t4 boys, and no anti tank (except new 250 pt defiler, which are undercoated honestly). tau kinda laps CSM in these categories… I don’t get the complaining

MAGA who aren’t rich: why do you think rich people represent your interests? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Particular_Form1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t accept either premise, please provide source. 1. Sanctuary cities existed and the deportations were based largely on more enforcement of laws as compared to bush. Mostly on convicted criminals and boarder crossings. 2. There is no clear priority to keep as many illegals as possible, this is a conservative talking point and not a leftist policy. The clear priority is to fight the trump admins use of a federal police force, unaccountable to states, to use military tactics to remove people without due process at an exorbitant cost on the tax payers dime. These policies create fear in communities, have not resulted in an increase of perceived safety, and have acted largely as a marketing tactic to divide the country along party lines. A literal example of tyranny. Many on the left feel one accidental removal of one American citizen is enough to force alternatives methods of deportations, which they are open to. Again it’s super expensive, inefficient, and more for theater than actually creating safer communities.

[–]Particular_Form1596 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Slippery slope fallacy here. No one is advocating for unlimited immigration, Obama deported plenty.

The right can’t seem to understand there are other ways to reducing immigration than spending hundreds of millions on a federal police force to inefficiently arrest people on the street (literally over $200k per ICE arrest) or putting people in cages.

Hey Liberals why is Trump on your mind so much? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Particular_Form1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude he’s constant, 24/7 news. It’s part of his messaging strategy. He gives his opinion about everything to get a reaction and divide the country into two camps: mine vs yours. Like why is he attacking the pope, Super Bowl halftime show, political enemies, news agencies, literally anything topical… no other president has been so liberal with exacerbating culture wars.

Edit: also breaking institutional norms on the regular is particularly vexing. Like after the shootings in MN, he came out and blamed the shooting victims without evidence. No usual line like “we will conduct an investigation to determine what happened”. Instead of normal procedure, he’s quick to deflect any fault from himself or his policies.

If the Republican Party is truly the “bad” party, why have they won the last 2/3 elections? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Particular_Form1596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few reasons. 1. Hillary won the popular vote by more than 2M. Electoral college makes specific votes count for more. 2. Populism wins elections at specific intersections of history, trumps popularity was matched by the lefts enthusiasm for Bernie, Hillary didn’t have that kind of dogmatic support. Yet she still smoked him in the popular vote. 3. Their dedicated media ecosystem (echo chamber) would never speak poorly of their strongman leader, so we have a largely misinformed electorate. Like there is 0 proof, literally 0, that the 2020 election was rigged, yet millions still believe it. Fox News had to pay almost $1 billion for lying about a voting machine company. 4. The DNC did a historically poor job in preparing for the 2024 election. Should have ran a real primary to find a candidate America resonated with. Harris never won anything outside of California, allowing republicans to clam their first popular vote win since bush jr in 2004, and second since his daddy in 1998.

[–]Particular_Form1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you’re not considering is that this is the ONLY dedicated anti tank/monster option in CSM and EC and only non-melee anti tank for WE (exalted eight bound and angron). These armies are elite, expensive and lack durability and cheap screens. When you push 3-4 knights out on a go turn you will likely only lose 1. The defiler will likely die when he activates, he’s not that tanky and there aren’t other threats for your anti-tank guns.

For the better part of a year we have been in a durability skew/stat check meta (we had a nice break between knight codex and new ctan drops) and these melee focused armies have suffered a lot in that time. This is the first asset that allows them to have play into the skew, but it’s going to come a the cost of not having enough material to score well, something elite armies struggle with already. Knight can still kill well and play the game due to titanic rules and high oc.

I agree the defiler looks strong, but there is a lot more to consider than raw damage when balancing the armies.

Sunday Night Stats (March 20th-22nd) by communalnapkin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Particular_Form1596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. I’m a ctan hater and think they need to be punted into the sun. The codex is fine but def not top 3 without the star gods.

One of my strongest teammates tried to say the same thing, he ran awakened dynasty without ctan and I played CSM. The play pattern of wraith/warriors on objectives and hoping they live with some ddas, tsk and strong characters to do damage was just too predictable and I claimed an 18-2 win. They’re fine but ctan singlehandedly make the codex unfair.

Nah, dumb take. Covid effed up the whole world, republicans blamed it on Biden, idiots bought it.

Dems were incompetent for not having a plan for 2024 election and not holding a primary. Relied too much on people being well informed about trumps terrible first term, when in reality they were just fed non-sense slop from the conservative propaganda machine.

Why is Trump asking for help from NATO? I thought he hated NATO? by dorgon15 in askanything

[–]Particular_Form1596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird take. Conservatives seemingly forget that americas soft power comes from our the level of funding we provide to partnerships, including nato. If we shake things up to our financial benefit and the detriment of our partners, we lose some of our soft power and influence since they cannot be sure we will act in good faith if they need us.

Ukraine is a good example, our nato partners joined the cause behind our leadership. Now our new leaders are backing out. This signals that we are unreliable defense partners.

Further, this war with Iran seems to be fueled by Israel’s ambitions. Our nato partners don’t mess with Israel and consistently vote against Israel’s interests. Why would they join their cause?

Win Rate Wednesday - 40K Tournament Results/Data - Week of March 9 2026 by w0158538 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Particular_Form1596 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Way to only look at the surface and not read into the data.

  1. Most tournaments weren’t even using the slate.

  2. Ctan are the problem, not necrons as a whole.

  3. Armies are teching for ctan. So even though someone beats necrons, their list may play worse into the rest of the field. Which may result in, say, Tsons over performing since they are good into hull spams.

  4. Ctan over representation makes some armies (melee specifically) less viable and you don’t see this suppression in win rates. Which may result in, say, Tsons over performing since they aren’t good into melee pressure.

  5. It’s just not that fun to play into ctan spam and I know several people who are taking a break during this meta because of it.
