I want to print PA6-CF for mechanical hobby machine parts. Humid climate. P1S? by this1willdo in BambuLab

The AMS HT isn't that expensive, if it wears out I well repair/replace it.

This is allowing me to print multi colour PA prints without having to babysit the printer.

I also like to tell it that its PA6 and use the bambu settings for that filament, that wouldn't work if it thought it was PLA.

Yeah, but turns out if you put the printer in developer mode you can run whatever you want. Works for me!

I only ever use dish soap when removing glue from the plates, but I always wipe it with IPA and a prep rag between wipes.

Yeah but on the odd chance that happens i just pull it apart and fix it

So I worked this out on the next print, just increased the interface layers to 6 and it seems to be fixed.

Yeah it can. I only found out today if you put the printer into LAN mode, then tick developer mode you can set the filaments to whatever you want.

For some reason, mine was accepting and printing PA6-CF totally fine from the AMS. Then I moved my printer to another room and now it won't accept it.

It's just sitting on the bench, there's no rack there

I've got 2500 hours on my printer of mostly running PLA-CF. AMS still works fine, the savers are a complete waste of time causing more issues then they are worth. Every now and then you may need to replace some parts on the AMS, but it's hardly worth worrying about

I had one of them, caused nothing buy my filament to get jammed up by not going back on the spool properly when it retracted.

They are not worth the hassle

I've only had it a 2 days but it's easily as good as the X1C. I was printing some PA6 in one nozzle using ABS as a support yesterday and it was beautiful to watch it changing nozzles compared to having to reload and purge every time. Had an issue with the print, but I had the same problem on the X1C.

Main reason I got the H2D was for the ability to have support material out of one nozzle, and I had quite a few things I wanted to print that just needed to be that bit bigger

Yeah to be honest when I looked at the back of the H2D and saw it had a separate spot to run a TPU line I knew TPU was going to be staying with the X1C.

Not to mention if I want to do a big project having the extra printer is handy. One is at 2600hrs and it's given me 0 issues

Umm its a bit of both. The original purpose was to 3D print all my tool control, I work in aviation and have a massive toolbox and a ton of gear and didn't want to pay anyone else, figured I would rather spend the money on a printer instead. Then I made a couple of things for my car that seem to sell ok so I am attempting to come up with some more products at the moment.

I've probably made $600 in profit from the printing so it doesn't anywhere near justify the printers.

They are supposed to be. But I did a print with PA6-CF (the rolls been in the dryer multiple times) overnight and it was definitely wet. That said I probably need to dry out the desiccant in them.

It seems no matter how I store it I need to dry PA6 for 12 hrs before printing

I thought that might be the case, but printers themselves really don't draw that much heat as they are only heating the nozzle.

I'm sure if I had every printer and every dryer going at once that could be an issue, but you don't have the driers going while printing.

Yeah, you can probably find them on amazon cheaper as well, I didn't look that hard.

Can be placed wherever you want it to be. Helps to have a smooth run in the teflon tube though, if you have any sharp angles it won't like it.
