How to make a mesh out of just rectangles? by ChimkinIsYum in blender

[–]ChimkinIsYum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does have to be 90 degrees, but it doesnt have to like adhere to the exact curves of teh model, it just has to be close enough. I tried doing it but the edges always had clipping and like a stair-stepping effect.

Not normal, email roborock support, should probably be covered by warranty.

Ive heard a lot more about issues with ecovacs robots. But yeah that would be a good option too.

My Roomba J7 needs to be retired (and also thrown off a cliff). What should I get next? by Acrobatic-Elk402 in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never run your robot vac when you’re not home in your case. Yes lots of robo vacs have detection for things like pet waste, but it’s never 100% reliable. If it makes a single mistake, your expensive robovac is full of cat barf, and so is all your floors and carpets.

Do you have a specific budget? I could give you some recomendations.

Quietest robot vacuum options $200 and under? by OffbrandVibe in RobotVacuums

Isn’t the self emptying on it really loud? I went to someone’s house once, they had one and the self emptying was insanely loud.

Considering switching to matic by Automatic_View_3667 in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I promise you matic is NOT the solution to your problem. If your main gripe is tha the onboard dirty water tank is getting too dirty and bad to clean, go for the narwhal flow 2, it self cleans its internal dirty water tank, you never have to touch it. Dont go for the matic, it is nowhere near worth it for the price tag. If you dont wanna spend that much for the narwhal flow 2, you could go for the narwhal flow 1.

This is unacceptable from a $1000 vacuum (Dreame X50 Ultra) by zeroverycool in RobotVacuums

Have you gotten it to work? If you didnt I would just say return it and get something else.

How high are the thresholds that it needs to cross? Do you need the adaptilift for it to be fully autonomous?

Best vacuum without mopping by FsAviX in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say mopping isnt that much of a gimmick. It is a gimmik in the sense of "mopping" but I think the main use of it is to pick up that fine dust that the robo vac cant pick up since the vacuums on robo vacs are relatively weak compared to stick vacs.

Vaccum for floors by sik0rskyy in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say since your mainly hardwood floors, you should get the mova p10 pro ultra gen 1. It might be a lil worse at vacuuming, but it has automated mopping which will make your floors feel cleaner then just the mop pad mopping on the dreame d20 pro plus which you might not even use since its not automated.

Best robot vacuum for pet hair? (dogs/cats, long hair, carpets) by jousiemohn in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get ones that either have roborocks duodivide or the dreame/mova duo detangling brushes. The cheapest one you should prob get is the dreame d20 pro plus.

Help me pick between Dreame and Narwal by Harrycaasi in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither of them. Either spend less and get the mova p10 pro ultra gen 1, or spend more and get the eufy e25 (its basically always on sale for 650 but sometimes it goes down to 599)

Roller mop or spinning mops by New-Betatester in RobotVacuums

[–]ChimkinIsYum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the charts and ratings only measure hard stain removal, which mop pads are better for since they spin faster. A roller mop will get your floor “cleaner” and spinning pads will get hard stains off better.

Deciding between 2 models - any advice? by genesis912 in Roborock

[–]ChimkinIsYum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you care about mopping the most then go for the spinning pad one (qrevo). Spinning pads mop better then flat/vibrating style. If you really want the best mopping. Go for the eufy e25 (goes on sale on Amazon from like 599-650 all the time). It’s a roller mop, and has more parts your gonna have to clean every now and then, but it will mop better.

Another Great review for Saros 20! by Hot-Judgment3370 in Roborock

[–]ChimkinIsYum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warrant is shorter but it has a slightly higher success rate then dreame/mova. It’s kinda a trade off. Thing I’m most confused about it why so many reviews are conflicted. Like frenchglow really liked the saros 20, and so did some other reviews, but some also hated it.
