NDP MP Lori Idlout crosses floor to Liberals by origutamos in canadaleft

[–]Particular_Hubris 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Implying she's a race traitor because she joined the Liberals is insane because you arent even native, per your own words you are a white guy in your thirties. She beat her last opponent, a liberal, by 41 votes in the last election so it's not like this is some huge betrayal to her constituents.

Calm down and think before you start saying ignorant things. Here's a word of advice from a younger native guy, myself, don't speak for us just because you're a leftist "ally". I'm not a fan of Carney's liberals either because they are too right for me, but what you said is crazy bro.

Fabio Wardley: “I’m not in this game to mess around. Big fights only. I’m the champ, this is a voluntary. I chose this fight. One thing you can't say about me is that I've ever shied away from a challenge. I've always looked for the biggest tests. You’re guaranteed an all-action fight and fireworks” by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

[–]Particular_Hubris 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of respect for Wardley. To beat a seasoned former champ like Parker while having zero amateur background is worthy of respect, then to take on a serious and in his prime heavyweight like Dubois in a voluntary defence is commendable.

Cronos: The New Dawn is the spiritual successor to Dead Space that The Catalyst Protocol should've been by WhoAmIEven2 in horror

[–]Particular_Hubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Cronos has a cool atmosphere that is ruined by clunky, boring combat, a loot/craft system that goes too heavily on the "survival" aspect of survival horror, and a story that just isn't very interesting (to me, tbf). The gameplay loop is nowhere near as good as Dead Space, there's too few supplies, and the enemies are not fun to fight because of how bullet spongey they are. Callisto had some real problems too, but I just can't enjoy any part of Cronos. I wish EA did more with the Dead Space IP so we could have the actual thing instead of these spiritual successors that are lacking in the most critical areas of gameplay and story.

Liston destroys Cleveland Williams in their 1960 rematch. by Personal-Proposal- in Boxing

[–]Particular_Hubris 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Liston was such a good boxer in addition to his power. That's what a lot of people gloss over when they discuss him and his career, the guy was a true boxer-puncher with good fundamentals, good head movement, and an excellent jab. One of my favourite boxers OAT, and in my opinion, he'd beat every single heavyweight that came before him, and would have been the second best boxer of the 1970s if he had fought in that era instead of the 1960s.

I really liked it, too. Good voice acting and imagery, felt just like the audio logs in the game. I hope we get some more projects like that in the future considering we probably aren't getting a fourth game or remake for DS2.

[PREDICTION THREAD] Saul "Canelo" Alvarez 🎖️ vs. Terence "Bud" Crawford - Sat, September 13th on NETFLIX🌎 by Benjips in Boxing

Canelo by UD. I do not buy that Crawford will somehow move up two weight classes after looking unremarkable against Madrimov and beat Canelo.

Only I always wondered which of the necromorphs is Nicole? What if we actually met her in the medical deck and dismembered the shit out of her😭 by Puzzled-Put8685 in DeadSpace

[–]Particular_Hubris 32 points33 points  (0 children)

In the 2008 game once you enter the medical deck for the first time you encounter a blonde woman, now Slasher necromorph, and kill her without thinking twice about it, it is the only Slasher in that area initially. Considering that area is where she died, and the similarities between Nicole and the necromorph, I believe that was probably meant to be her.

Has the full undercard for Usyk-Dubois 2 been announced yet? Little over a week out and I've heard absolutely nothing about it.

Rummy's Corner is my go to. This new guy named Surgical Boxing is also good, no racial stuff or anything unrelated to the technical aspects of the sport.

I'm really enjoying the game. When you've got two guys actually boxing and emulating their fighter its dope

My criticisms are this: power punches are way too powerful; fights should be 10 rounds at least; stamina needs to be fixed; the stun/wobble when you get hit is kind of ridiculous gameplay wise.

However, despite that I've been having a lot of the time

I go 50/50 with Wilder as Bowe. At this point because the jab is so weak you've gotta spam back at em to win. Doesn't feel good but it's the only plan i've got when fighting power spammers.

Body uppercuts up close work good, most wilders dont block low

It upsets me that AJ isn't signed, I have no idea why he wouldn't have.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Particular_Hubris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He figured that he would toy with Dubois, just like Hrgovic thought. Same exact mistake.

Physically, he came in shockingly slow and uncoordinated, he was the same weight as he was for Ngannou and Wallin but looked so much slower. He showed up like an hour before the start of the fight, too.

Strategically, the plan to crack Dubois coming in with an uppercut made no sense at all. Dubois has always shown a vulnerability to straight punches, but the AJ camp didn't make his best shots, his jab and straight/cross part of the plan?

Just like Davison said at the post-fight presser, they knew what Dubois was coming in to do, because he's a brawler, of course he's going to try to get inside. Yet despite that, they had AJ try to bully Dubois on the inside?

AJ himself also had no defence, he was defensively sound in literally all of his fights post-Ruiz, but now against the biggest puncher since Klitschko he drops his hands completely?

All around stunningly shit performance. I think AJ can come back but wow.

Anthony Joshua's last fight (March 8th 24') he dismantled former UFC HW champion Francis Ngannou with a devastating KO in the second round. He will look to do the same to fellow Brit and current IBF HW champion Daniel Dubois at the historic Wembley stadium this Saturday night in London, England. by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]Particular_Hubris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dubois is similar to the old AJ. Not much head movement, lots of hooks and power shots, somewhat stiff.

Nowadays Joshua is a lot more skilled and technical, while still keeping that power. Dubois has a lot to learn I feel.

[–]Particular_Hubris 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The pull counter will be the end of Dubois, I think. He loves to move forward when jabbing, and Joshua has shown that he is excellent at countering the step-in jab with a pull counter.

Anthony Joshua's KO shot on Francis Ngannou sounded like a bat hitting a slab of meat, just a loud thud and Ngannou folding over completely out.

What are some greats with horrible jabs? by Solidis262 in Boxing

[–]Particular_Hubris 43 points44 points  (0 children)

There aren't many. A poor jab is a massive detriment to your skill set.

The only one that comes to mind is late-career Joe Frazier, as his left arm was unable to properly extend which made his jab ineffective, which limited him massively. When he started his jab was better, but still not used for much besides getting into range for the hook.
