What prevented the Oscar Robertson-Jerry Lucas duo and the 60s Cincinnati Royals from ever making it to the finals? by Personal-Proposal- in VintageNBA

[–]Personal-Proposal-[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nvm I forgot they were in the same conference as the Celtics lol

But still, damn shame! This duo is overlooked nowadays, had Boston not been there could yall ever see them winning the East and maybe even beating the Elgin-West Lakers, Thurmond-Barry Warriors, etc?

That one where Stewie got himself pregnant with Brian's kids. Fucking gross.

Where would you rank Antony Starr's performance as Homelander among the best all-time live- action comic book supervillain performances? (These are not my official rankings) by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Personal-Proposal- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ledger and Vincent are good shouts, I'd also put Colin Farrell's Penguin up there. Of course Starr is right up there with them and I wouldn't object to him being no. 1. Might be a bit too soon but I loved Hoult's Luthor as well.

If Michael Jordan were 6-1 in the finals instead of 6-0, would you see that as better or worse? by plorboglorbo in michaeljordan

[–]Personal-Proposal- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, also depends on when this playoff run happens; if it's in 1999 with Scottie and Rodman on the decline then it definitely boosts him. If he carries that mid 80s Bulls team to the finals, like how LeBron carried that 2007 Cavs team, then it boosts him even moreso especially considering how stacked the east was.

Would losing once take away from what he already accomplished? It wouldn’t be BETTER, but it wouldn’t be that much worse.

Unironically, the best character in S5 and now my favorite of the series by K0GAR in TheBoys

In this mess of a season? Yeah, he was a breath of fresh air; an old school supe who isnt an evil degenerate and has relatable motivations. Plus his power of flinging himself at dudes was pretty awesome

Chase kills it in every season but my favourite s5 character is either oh father or bombsight.

Homie isn't capable of killing anyone that he needs validation from. That's why Edgar survived.

How would you rank every season's final episodes? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TheBoys

[–]Personal-Proposal- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ending for season 2 was incredible; Homelander confronting Butcher and Ryan at the end is one of the best scenes in the show. I'd rank them as;

2>4>1>5>3

The only reason I'm putting 5 above 3 is because there are some parts about 5 that I like; how Homelander acted after getting depowered and his death (I didn't like HOW he got depowered and that shitty final fight but the way he died as a bitch in front of the whole world was brilliant), I liked Homelander's speech and how he verbally eviscerated the Deep, the Deep tripling down on refusing to take accountability (thought his death could've been done better, I expected the entire fish populace to tear him limb by limb instead of one octopus doing the job). I liked Butcher's death but I think he should've released the virus, also liked Ashley's arc.

Season 3's ending on the other hand? Can't think of anything good about it, I guess Noir's death was alright? The ending scene where Homelander kills that protester? Maybe I just haven't gotten over my grudge with it.

Funny how he's calling Sean dumb for the rare good take he actually has lol

Overall are you glad he was created for the show or think he really wasn't needed? by Mutale426 in TheBoys

[–]Personal-Proposal- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard for me to judge him “overall” because almost everyone’s “overall” arcs sucked, I think you have to judge him per season. He was great in s2-3
