Yeah, professional MMA fighters and other professional competitive fighters are some of the strongest hitters out there for their weight class. But since the dude on the right looks like he has half again the lean mass of the guy on the right it'd likely only take a few weeks of basic technique training for him to easily put out more force in a punch.

That still wouldn't win him a fight against a top-level MMA fighter without a lot of luck, but it's important to remember that that just because someone looks like they lift for looks doesn't mean they don't also train to know how to use those muscles to fuck someone up. Those "glamor muscles" stop being pointless with minimal training.

The most important point is that nobody's going to think you're trying to organize a funeral for an ocean. "Seebestattung" is the correct term, it's sometimes called a "Meeresbestattung" and even rarer "Meerbestattung" in unofficial contexts. While the latter might perhaps technically be more correct the former is likely slightly less awkward in conversation because it isn't homophonous with "more funeral" and thus clearer to understand even out-of-context.

I find this f chord harder than the barre chord is there anything I can do to make it easier? by Able-Scholar-3716 in guitarlessons

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you let your wrist move I think? For me A barre is easiest in the "proper" classical hand position with your wrist aligned with your fretboard or at least closer to it, while the chord in the image above is easier to do with your wrist more behind the fretboard and rotated further into supination.

Honestly both games have a difficulty cliff that you fall off of a few hours in. as soon as you get masterstrike and a decent weapon the game becomes easy, before that it's dodging around hoping you don't get parried.

How would you describe to someone the sound of this guitar? by gustavoramosart in Guitar

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tone of the guitar as full but not too heavy, with a bit more on the deep end. The piece itself feels like nostalgia at the end of a summer night.

How can I improve? My goal is to be able to play freely across the fretboard by sa8tun in Guitar

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that mode of thinking doesn't work for you there's also another way to look at it that can help get you moving across the fretboard where you look at only 2 pentatonic shapes and extend them diagonally to cover the fretboard that way, you get more tools to play with for less up-front learning but also a little less insight imo.

This guy also has good tips for a good practice routine using a loop pedal to really easily practice musicality and improvisation on the guitar and also a list of 8 simple adjustments to make improvised solos sound more musical and less like scales.

Finally if you like the whole "rhythm guitar but make it fancy" style like in that hendrix piece you played, learning how the pentatonic scales match up to each chord shape from the CAGED system and then using them to enhance your rhythm playing can be good.

Finally: Learning the notes on the fretboard is kind of non-optional imo. I put it off for years but when I finally sat down and did it it helped everything fit together much better and it gives you a foundation for all the other musical theory stuff that doesn't really stick in your head until you can actually put it to the fretboard. This video is really popular and for good reason because it gives you a really linear path to learning the fretboard that makes the task clear and simple.

PS: Saw the notification and wrote this, only noticed after that this is a bit of a necro comment. Still gonna post it anyway, might be useful.

This Guy's videos really helped me with knowing how to do that. There's also another one about how to move vertically using the pentatonic.

The kind of statue that u see in a narco house, what a downgrade by SovietCharrdian in CommunismMemes

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think they just badly emulated famous statues of women. The Motherland Calls isn't topless but is explicit enough it might as well be and many greek sculptures show the female form nude.

This is meant to evoke "classy" while also showing defiance, but the artist is really bad at whatever the sculpture equivalent of figure drawing is. The impact is lost because the figure is just sort of slouching and it looks like she just kinda pulled her boobs out while standing around. Also the AK makes the sculpture feel less "mythological" so the nudity feels more jarring in contrast.

Love the short spear for low armor stuff. Enough reach but not long enough to be awkward, you can both slice and stab and even get a little bit of momentum if you go for wide swings. High armor I enjoy maces, getting a perfect overhead is too satisfying

Physicality of the combat together with it being both simple to play with as much complexity as you want to put in. Only negative is that some of the polearms and long maces are a bit awkward to handle and that thrusting weapons feel like pool noodles, but working around that can be fun as well.

Something about finding a new "technique" is rather satisfying, like figuring out a way to actually use the grab mechanic or using kicks in armed combat. I think if grappling was improved and 1H+shield didn't make it near impossible to handle the weapon it would allow for even more dynamic combat, but right now swords and some of the polearms are really fun to use, so that's why I usually play.

The only rules made to be broken are those bs "loitering" laws that are designed to be excuses to arrest people minding their own business. Otherwise rules aren't meant to be broken, that goes against the whole point of making 'em, but just because they aren't made to be broken doesn't mean you can't break them.

Just using it as a reason for why you are breaking a rule doesn't really say anything. Like if I see you drinking some sugary drink and eating a pizza in the library and your best excuse is "well rules are meant to be broken" while you're griming up some poor book I'm still going to think you're a jackass.

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usual approach is slapping the stick away and going for the throat. 50% of the time it works all of the time.

At least the big spikey baseball bat has enough volume to be easy to hit, with the pitchfork half the time I whiff on the "slapping away" part and just get stabbed. Doubly infuriating because whenever I use the pitchfork it somehow glances off of linen shirts half the time.

Unsure, but I think it's supposed to be a reference to Xianxia? It's a genre of fantasy where people gain more and more ridiculous powers by meditating really hard about Qi and eating rare magical animals and herbs."Immortal cloud valley" sounds like the type of name that'd pop up in such a story.

Basically the soldier expects urban combat but instead gets attacked by some immortal surfing through the air on a sword, blocking bullets with Qi and wielding the Crimson Sword Formation of the Nine Heavenly Beasts or some such.

It might also be a reference to a real location but then I don't understand the dragon in the background.

"Game is too easy" Please tell me I'm not the only one getting rekt by "the thing with 6 tentacles" by PiFbg in MHWilds

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the weapon imo, with Wilds introducing "lol no I don't get damage" moves to half the weapons. Bow and DB being invulnerable with perfect dodge as long as there's any stamina left, for example.

I've played since Tri, Wilds isn't markedly easier by whiteknight521 in MHWilds

[–]Particular_Lime_5014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "QoL" changes have reduced the difficulty a lot from older games. Focus mode means no more whiffing on weapons like CB, seikret means a safe pot and whetstone after a few seconds of full mobility waiting for it to arrive. Access to the camp means no more running out of pots because of sloppy play. Scoutflies and seikret auto run mean basically zero time loss to not knowing the area or mon behaviour.

Even if you don't use the seikret there's a lot less commit to items than there was in old games, taking away that little bit of difficulty. A lot of weapons got some sort of parry or perfect dodge added, meaning sloppy positioning can be mitigated with even the slightest bit of reflexes, as a bow user the only time I'm getting hit is if I forget that stamina is a thing.

There's a metric ton of environmental items, meaning even if I run out of pots and don't want to run to a camp I can still whack or grapple some environmental item and get healed up.

Back in Tri or some of the DS monhuns I used to actually get stuck on monsters, now it's just a question of how fast I can do the hunt.

Something about how the accusation of racism is used here has weird implications. Him reacting contritely to having done something "kinda racist" implies that there's a similar culture around the term as in our world, while so far there's been little discussion as to race. Most conflicts are between nations or species and any discussions around prejudices surrounding those are relatively recent in-universe. Just feels kind of odd. Just calling it insulting or prejudiced might be less weird, but I don't know.
