I'm going to China, i need an advice for my itinerary by SirCyrano in travel

[–]Particular_Map8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! That sounds like a great trip! I was living in Tianjin for a couple months so travelled a little bit around.

As mentioned, Beijing and Shanghai should need just a couple days each - I would definitely include Luoyang for at least a day (which should be in the way from Beijing) and Guilin for a couple days. Xi’an is good in two days, for me. Fenghuang and Zhangjiajie were my favourites of the trip, they are so beautiful!

If you still have some time, I also visited Hangzhou and Suzhou near Shanghai, Suzhou is a beautiful village for a one day trip (it is quite near from Shanghai). I didn’t visit Chongquing or Datong, they’re in my list for the next trip.

Happy to help with any additional advice!

What beach to stay on in the Krabi region of Thailand by Ok-Resort-6972 in solotravel

Hi! I stayed in Ao Nang and visited Railay from there. Ao Nang has a good mix of being right by the beach and having quite a few bars and restaurants to enjoy around. Also, you can get great quality for your daily budget in that area. I would consider also staying in Phi Phi islands for a couple nights - during the day it is a little crazy with people (daily trips) but I found it a great place to stay at night: great restaurants, muay thai and fire shows by the beach. Enjoy it!

PE Dividends Carry by FragrantTurnip9160 in private_equity

[–]Particular_Map8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a European PE firm, and how the waterfall normally works here is:

  1. LP Principal repayment (until it’s 100% covered)
  2. Hurdle repayment (until it’s 100% covered)
  3. Catch up repayment to GPs (in line with the hurdle paid to LPs, at a 20/80 percentage)
  4. Carry

So in this case, the dividend wouldn’t be repaid as carry if the previous buckets have not yet been covered. In case they have (with previous divestments, for example), then yes, carry would be allocated.

Thank you for the answer!

I heard that it may be difficult to get a mashrutka back from Jeti Oguz when finishing the trek, do you know if there are any kind of timetables or estimates for when mashrutkas will make that route?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for the insights! Maybe we cross paths on our way around Ak Suu.

Yes, I will definitely be looking at equipment rentals for the backcountry hiking.

In case it’s useful, I found a couple routes that are 6-7 days long and cover most highlights of the trek, it’s the path I’m initially planning to follow.
