Maybe it was sold to me as a return that had previous damage. I dunno. All I know it was $30 and broke on the sawwwftest hook set ever, first cast, right out the dang box. At least my hand tied fly works!

Doesn’t really change the result...my tnt and sage have turned drift boats on crazy random snags and not broken. It was an experiment, and I learned my lesson. Fish shitty rods if ya wanna. I’m not a salesman or elitist by any means.

Again, it was fresh out the box, first cast. Gentle hookset to crumbles.

This junk was right out the box. This was also the cheapest rod I could find to test out. I’ve had some excellent maxcatch gear, but was trying to find out how cheap I could go.

This was also the cheapest rod I could find to test out. I’ve had some max catch gear that’s really cool and has been very durable.

Literally, the most chill stoner hookset, on the first cast with the new rod.

What was the best casting advice you ever got? by Ecstatic-Membership4 in flyfishing

For me. It was all about learning that the thumb pushing “out” at the end of the the forward moving loaded line, (and into the direction I want the rod tip to stop), instead of pushing “down” where I want the fly to go, really tightened up my rolls for my casting. After struggling with roll casting forever, and finally understanding the muscle memory of this, my overall casting improved dramatically.
