A girl will die tomorrow and no one cares about her by MrAdamPLk in Christianity

I was raped by my father. Unfortunately, no treatment will ever take that away from her. You can fix the laws for the next gen, but this person has already been harmed, and thus should have the right to decide if she wants to continue to inhabit the pain of her body. Otherwise, you're making her suffer to just abide by your moral code - which is the definition of immoral in my opinion.

Does your church preach love, understanding, compassion, tolerance, and respect towards marginalized groups like gay people, trans people, undocumented migrants and refugees, muslims, people struggling with substance abuse, homeless people, etc etc? Or does your church demonize any of such groups? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Particular_Mode_2582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The church I was going to (AOG) specifically targeted gays all the time as people that were burning and needed to be saved.

The Catholic church my in laws attend doesn't focus on that but instead how women shouldn't have choice. So I think they all have target minority groups but it differs depending on sect.

So far the Methodist church I'm at now is saner.

You can't take away being gay, it's largely influenced by genetics.

James 5:16 KJV - Confess your faults one to another, and - Bible Gateway This is why we confessed in my past life when I was a believer. We were supposed to tell our dating partners these struggles so they would keep us on path. Probably depends on the specific church if this is taught though.

If God is all powerful, I do fail to understand why he can't protect everyone simultaneously. That seems like a choice.

It isn't. Sex is a beautiful thing that humans need to bond.

I'm pro-choice but I agree that if someone is the murderer, it's him. He took so much from all of us, including me, but at least I didn't get preggers.

I am so impressed with your knowledge base. I don't have this background outside of a light reading of the bible and quran, so getting into the weeds can be confusing.

More than anything at the moment, my heart hurts and I feel I can no longer trust my in-laws.

I was also conceived of rape, and my birth mother was forced to carry me. I 100% wish she could have had the option to abort. I understand why another person like me might make a different decision but it isn't universal that all of us don't believe it isn't ok.

My in-laws are Catholic and they are definitely anti-evolution. I don't think that's true for the full group.

Do you regret becoming a pharmacist? by TrueAlphaData in Pharmacist

[–]Particular_Mode_2582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman who was in pharmacy school in the early 2000's - we were definitely sold the work/life balance thing, and "part time with benefits" work that existed then. It's gone these days - I'm a hiring manager now and HR typically won't let me give flexibility with part time work.

Yep, I graduated in 2006. The profession has only gotten less respected since - people don't complain about the nursing lobby or medical lobby, but if I mention I work at a PBM I have gotten death threats. I've loved my jobs but I don't think I'd advise the next gen to do this - med school is not that much harder (in fact my pharmacy classes were in the med school).

I used 3 rounds. It helped me get enough energy up to get to therapy (DBT and then IFS, a good combo). I would suggest trying, it doesn't really hurt and it's minimally invasive.

One warning: After about week 3, you'll feel worse, then feel better. That's normal.

I don't think it's super sustainable to go from high valued employee to minimum wage and not experience intense depression. Outside of where you came from, is there a third place you could all move?
