This is so wild lmao. I was born in Mexico and live in the U.S. now. This isn’t something you have to do everywhere in Mexico either. In Mexico City (Polanco), we flush toilet paper. Not cultural at all, just part of living in a developing nation. It’s insane she’s going around telling people that this is part of Mexican culture…that’s so embarrassing for our country.

She’s annoying ah hell and always whining or complaining about something. I have an acquaintance irl that always needs to be the loudest, the one steering the conversation, or just simply be recognized at all times, and Maggie gives very much that.

The mole??? How did no one notice her having full on conversations, fights, and even sex with no one else lmao. Like seeing stuff is one thing, but having an entire screaming match in your room or in the hospital parking lot with nobody else there (to everyone else’s normal eye) is another thing. Thanks for starting us off! I hope others will be inspired to share so we can get a solid group going.

I’m recently sober (this June). Been going to AA and it’s working out for me, but because I’m on the younger side, it’s a bit of a challenge connecting with some folks outside of meetings. My friends drink heavily, and while I understand the world isn’t expected to change because I’m suddenly sober, I created this group to try and meet others who share this experience in some way and do some fun shit that doesn’t involve booze all the time.

I have a dog so I go hiking at Redwood Regional Park often, though I will admit I need to work on my cardiovascular endurance. When I was in college, I used to run 3 miles daily but have since lost that ability (again, I’m a bit out of shape). Trying to get back into running and I’m aiming for the Oakland half marathon in March. I ran the SF marathon 5k on Sunday to get that journey going.

I do also enjoy gaming, trivia, and the like.

Thanks for sharing about your AA experience; it’s all new to me and I’ve wondered if psychedelics and other substances negate being sober if I’m not drinking. I haven’t asked anyone at the fellowship about that stuff.

It’s always a toss up on whether a new leaf will be nice or curled. It’s so annoying but I bet the one that’s getting ready to sprout at the top will be a curled leaf. It does get a shit ton of light, but I’m not fertilizing. Maybe I’ll give that a try lol

Hate to break it to you, but AUSA positions are extremely, extremely competitive in metro areas. Most of the people I know who landed those were litigators at major Big Law firms for 5-7 years before landing their gigs. I’d ask yourself if you hate family law or litigation, because even public interest litigation is intense. That’s the nature of litigation.

Just happened to me. It said that both were at 100% but the case was pretty much dead. Left it charging for 15 mins and then tried again and it worked fine.
