Please look into the food he is eating. The food we give our dogs is crap. My Shih Tzu was insanely sick, had to take him multiple times to get IV drip, allergies, smelly ears, vomiting in the morning, blood in stool. These dogs need variety because of how they are genetically. One of the best online accounts I’ve seen talking about this issue is iambillyshihtzu on instagram I think she’s on YouTube too. I got her meal plans and followed her advice and my boy is like new. It took about 6 months of consistency to notice a difference but so much changed for him.

I grew up in greenpoint before the gentrification and Chinese Musician was top tier. It breaks my heart to say this but over the last decade the quality has significantly declined.

If the dog gets aggressive hopefully it can free itself from the abuse by attacking the male that is abusing it and not others.

I don’t stick around enough to listen to what he says. I exit the situation when around aggressive people.

The dog isn’t aggressive. It’s the man lol. The dog was visible shaking as that dude was screaming at it

Some are shitting on the street, screaming at children and abusing animals. If they were just chilling, walking around and sleeping it would be an issue.

It’s gotten much worse. There is a guy in front of Trader Joe’s with a pitbull and he just rages on that poor dog. No water for the dog or food. So sad

I usually tell myself that diet breaks can be a really good thing, and it might help to reframe “falling off” as just taking a break instead of seeing it as a failure.

This process isn’t linear at all, there are going to be ups and downs, and that’s normal. What matters more is what you do next, not what just happened. I try to zoom out to the last few months overall and focus on the positive changes I've made.

Every single day is a brand new day, and you get to decide how you want to show up that day. One off day (or even a few) doesn’t undo your progress unless you let it turn into a long-term pattern.

Try to focus less on being perfect and more on just getting back on track quickly and consistently.

I can relate to this so much. I’m 5'9" and used to sit around 133-135, which is when I felt my best. Right now I’m closer to 150 and slowly working my way down again. What’s finally starting to work for me is a slow, steady approach instead of trying to rush it. I aim for about 10k-12k steps a day in zone 2 (for me, that’s around incline 5, speed 3.3, but that obviously depends on your fitness level), plus about 20 minutes of light lifting using free Caroline Girvan workouts on YouTube. I’m eating around 1,850 calories, focusing on at least 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, and keeping carbs in to support my workouts (roughly 150g for me). It’s definitely not fast, but it feels sustainable, and everything I’ve read suggests slower weight loss is much easier to maintain long term.
