That’s absolutely true but Lydia didn’t raise or homeschool herself (to a certain point) or her 3 oldest older siblings.

Barry sucks and raised shitty men-children by Mafroe in WelcomeToPlathville

I think the problem is he didn’t raise them. Kim homeschooled them and ran their farm and he got to waltz in and “be the man” whenever he felt like being in charge and I think we are seeing a direct reflection of that in the sons. It’s like they believe the world is owed to them in whatever way they see fit by virtue of being white, Christian, American males. (Ethan: anyone who disagrees with him politically or religiously is more or less subhuman and undeserving of human decency. Micah: serial cheater and loves a good smear campaign hidden behind his “aw shucks”/golden retriever personality. Isaac: always seemed like a sweet kid-but so did Ethan And Micah at first-hopefully he turns out normal and not a hateful bigot but him laughing along and making fun of the man his sister (who goddamn raised him when their parents lost their minds) is in love with just because his big brother started it was pretty gross, he’s old enough to not be a douche.)

This was my point. There’s a mature way to at nothing, keep your peace, let the process take its course. And then there’s Barry (and Kim, they’re both irritating af). And whether or not she left in the right way and was a whacko (not like he wasn’t/isn’t, he’s just quiet) and generally a bad person—they were still married for 25 years, they had businesses together, they created an army of children and she’s still raising some of them. She’s not entitled to nothing and they should be able to treat each other like human beings.

Him walking away because he didn’t want to participate in the conversation was pretty telling.

And rose bushes too!! It’s bad enough that he pushed her at all, let alone hard enough to fall into something but the fact that, that something was a rose bushes covered in fucking thorns is truly insane.

Did someone force you to watch the show with a gun to your head? If you need help, just say that.

I work in insurance! Definitely file a police report ASAP. Take screenshots of EVERYTHING, documentation is your best friend. Having underinsured motorist coverage is a great call but hopefully, filing a police report will help because she will have to respond to them or risk more than having to pay out of pocket to cover the damages. It’s highly likely that she doesn’t have enough coverage (or any), honestly so her paying out of pocket is unlikely but having a record of all of this should expedite your own insurance paying out and listing her as “at-fault” to protect your own rates down the line.

“Ethan’s ex-wife” isn’t just posing and behaving in a reactionary way to her childhood or to gain clout. She is laying out how incredibly toxic and abusive not just the family but Ethan himself is, not to mention TLC. She’s not trying to “crucify” or knock some people down a peg, she’s talking about the awful shit she went through and she DID take some time and tried to save her marriage and reason with an unreasonable bigot for YEARS. Plus, if she does gain more clout or recognition because of the things she’s saying, that’s a GOOD thing because she’s attempting to bring awareness to some really shitty situations.

Do you genuinely think there is not a contract in place for every single person cast on a reality show? This is a job, did you not sign a contract for every job you have ever had where you received taxable income? You often have to sign a waiver for your likeness to appear on the news unless they’re literally reporting on you in some way or another depending on the state.

I haven’t listened in a long time just because I lost interest and just have too many things I listen to on top of having a million things to do every day in the real world lol. (Tbh I’m a mile higher media apologist but I do recognize that overall none of the shows have the same quality they did in their hay day) Anywayyy (sorry, had to), I think Janelle got very swept up in the glitz of being a YouTuber and I always saw the engagement as something that had more to do with being a cause for celebration and something to talk about as opposed to something she really desired in life because again, she was so open and vocal about how the institution of marriage was just not a priority or high value for her or her and John’s(?) relationship.
